Question about Toshiba HD-A30 HD-DVD Player
How do I correctly connect my Phillips 2880DVP dvd player to my toshiba 3 yr. old flat screen (dont know model) tv that is connected to Direct tv? HDMI from dvd player to tv and then?
Flat screens normally have 3 different inputs from tv. Regular is tv coax cable, then audio/picture by using special rca cables, then last HDMI. You can use any of those inputs except hdmi because you already are using that input. You may be able to buy a hdmi splitting device that will allow both the tv and the player to input to the single hdmi input. Check Radio Shack or Wal-Mart.

i have the Toshiba A1 and a benQ W9000 projector. I never had this problem with my Sony HS60. I switched the video from 1080i to 720p and then back to 1080i and it fixed it immediately .... its really annoying though

I did the same thing, if you hold the hdmi select button on the player (not the remote) while ejecting and inserting a dvd, it will reset so you are able to access the setup menu again.

If you want HDMI 'Auto' mode (the factory default), you need a combination of selecting the proper output mode (use the remote's 'Progressive' button to toggle between the four output modes: HDMI, RCA VGA, component video out and s-video. Once you're in HDMI mode (the led's on the front of the box are a dead give-away!), then you can press the front panel 'HDMI Select' button to move through the five available HDMI settings: 480P, 720P, 1080i, 1080P and 'Auto'. You're in 'Auto' mode when all four led's are lit.

I solved the same problem by disabling SIMPLINK from OPTIONS menu. I own the LG TV myself. The LG TV comes SIMPLINK "ON" as default setting from the factory. Go to MEMU -> OPTIONS -> Turn SIMPLINK to "OFF". This should work....

Tries unplug, replug it back like an hour later.Letting the DVD player resetting itself back to the factory setting.Tries it than, see if it work than. Not,than tries hook it up with the RCA component cable Y,R,W.If still have the same problems, the PCB in the DVD player is bad.Not worth repairing.Trash it.DVD players are very cheap these days.U can get a brand new one like for $40 dollars.
