Question about Samsung WA5471AB 4.7 Cu. Ft. Top Load ENERGY STAR Washer with PureCycle

Samsung washer wa5471ab leaks water after washing several loads (underneath, front left corner)

Leak usually occurs during the 4th load. Put a piece of newspaper underneath the washer to monitor and leak is on the front, left side. What could be the source of the leak? Seems to only occur after several loads are washed, regardless of cycle and water temp.

The soap dispenser is on the back in the middle. There's a liquid bleach dispenser on the left side. I'll confirm that both aren't clogged. Thanks for the tip.

If it's a large load, the drum will move during washing cycle (you can actually push it back and forth when it's empty and look) and the water that's in the bleach dispenser will drain straight through the washer onto the floor. Happened to me too. I had a blanket that I had to adjust during the cycle. Good news, there's nothing wrong with your washer!

Ours was leaking and then displaying "No Fill". I found the drain hose on the left rear underside of the washer had become disconnected. We scooted the washer forward far enough to tilt it back so I could get underneath to reconnect the hose. The hose is pliable and the clamp was easy to reattach with only my hand.

The pump could be starting to wear out or it has a small crack in the housing. You will have to tip back your washer to change the pump. Someone told me pumps wear out when the loads are to big for the size of machine. Not sure if it is true???

Thank you. I've been wondering if the pump could be showing signs of wear and tear. The washer is only 2 yrs old, but I have washed large loads of towels the entire time, which could be part of the problem.

You probably have a clogged filter. It's a pretty easy fix, but can be tough to turn filter cap.

Project will take about a half hour, Tools needed 5/16' or 1/4" nut driver, or socket with extension. Flashlight, door stop or small piece of wood. Low profile tupperware container and a small trash can that can hold water. A bath size towel.

Step one: Remove the panel under the washer door, with a 5/16" or1/4" nut driver or socket driver with extention. There are three screws to remove them cover comes off.
(set screws and cover aside from where your working)

Step two: Locate on the right hand side a round pipe with a "s" looking plug, it is tight but turn counter clockwise with a good bit of pressure and it will slowly loosen up. (Have a low profile tupperware container etc to slide under the pipe to catch the water. It may be good to have a bucket or plastic trash can to dump into as small container fills up. Also a towel to help contain the spills.)

Step three: Once cap is removed, you will see a basket, pull it out and clean it out, You may find a sock, lint, paper or change, something that is causing you troubles in there.

Step Four: Wipe out, and re-assemble. replace basket, screw cap back into place, secure snugly. Then Replace cover, It is helpful to have a small piece of wood, door stop small book to wedge slightly under the panel as you re-install the screws. Also, a flashlight to help you see the holes for alignment is nice.

Good Luck.

Is your soap dispenser on the left side? sometimes they get clogged and you have to take it out and clean the line that goes to the tub.

SOURCE: I have a two month old Samsung WF350 front load

I just received my Samsung WD 8804 front loader washing machine, and during the 3rd wash trial, I noticed the same problem of water trickling down from the base of the front door. I took a closer look and the problem is actually due to a cracked rubber seal, which can be seen through the glass door. I have informed the technician.

Front loader leaking underneath in the back corner on the left hand side

If its leaking during the fill cycle, its one of the water valves (solenoids) or associated hoses, loose clamps, etc. If its leaking during draining its the drain hoses, pump, clamps etc. Easiest way to tell. Pull it out, if you can remove the back, run it and look for the leak. Just don't touch anything while its running, you don't want to lose a finger or get electrocuted.

Washer leaks

There is also a discharge lint filter on the front lower left that has to seal properly. If the water appears only when washing, you can probably eliminate leaking from the water supply side up to the solenoids controlling the water. The most likely source is a leak in the rubber section between the tub and the front door, a leak in the seal between the door and the washer, a leak or overflow in the soap dispenser, or a leak in the discharge side components. You could probably figure out the source if you could view these areas during a cycle, but that would require some disassembly of the cabinet so that you would need to know what you were doing.
