To check the switch, use a multimeter, set to ohms reading and connect to the plug on the blower. Turn the switch on and off. You should see a change in readings when you do this. If you do, the switch may not be the problem.

My dryer will not start. It is only 4 yrs old.

Check your power source to make sure you are getting the proper voltage. If so check the electrical power connection on the back of the dryer where the cord is connected. Make sure the connections are tight. MAKE SURE TO DISCONNECT THE POWER FIRST. If all of the above are in good condition the the start button would be the next area to check whithout the proper electrical meters this would be hard. however, the next item in line to prevent the dryer from working would be the start button or the door closer switch. Both of these need to be checked using an electrical meter. If you have an apliance tech check it for you it shouldn't be expensive at least you hav an idea as to what is wrong.

Good luck hope this helped you some

My whirlpool electric dryer just stopped working. No warning signs. There was a very faint electrical ticking noise coming from rear of dryer immediately after it quit working for a couple of minutes, then...

put your ear up next to the timer,if you hear it ticking than you have a bad thermal switch.you will nead to unplug the dryer, next you will nead to take off the back panal and power cord cover plate.on the lower right hand side you will see a white plastic switch with two blue wires going to it.remove the two wires,at this time if you have a continuaty meter you can check to see if switch is open,if it is you nead to replace it.

I have problem with aficio 3800c it is showing

SC 560 Zero Cross Error

When the power switch is turned on. The machine checks how many Zero-cross signals are generated during 500 ms. If the number of Zero-cross signals is more than 66 or less than 45 and the condition is detected more than 10 times this code is shown.

Cause is electrical noise in the supply from the power cord.
Solution
  • Change to another power wall socket
  • Change power cord
  • Replace main PSU (Power Supply Unit)

Plugged electric sawzhall in, no power. checked cable -- ok, checked both brushes, still have about 3/8in in each of them. What should I do next? Just replaced the blade, but I do not think that has...

I would say its either in your cord(an open wire from wear) or the switch on the sawsall.
Try plugging it in and hold in the switch (dont have a blade in) move the cord around in different places to try to get it to work if thats not it and your brushes are ok its probably the switch. I ve replace bad switches in sawsalls before from wear. You can either go to your local electrical supply store that sells milwaukee and order one or I ve purchase them at Grainger parts too.

Dryer is getting Power but not coming on.

Check the following---

1. No power to the dryer
Make sure there's power getting to the dryer. Check for a tripped circuit breaker or a blown fuse. Check the wall socket for power with a voltmeter or by plugging something else in. Sometimes the power cord disconnects or burns at the dryer, if this is the case, the wiring and the terminal block must be repaired or replaced.

2. Door switch / Door switch actuator lever
The dryer would not start with a broken door switch. Replace the door switch if found defective.

Most dryers have a door switch actuator lever - when you close a dryer door, it presses against the lever, which actuates the door switch. If the lever is broken, the switch would not activate and the dryer would not start. Replace the lever, if broken.

Note: Door switch actuator lever usually comes with the door switch assembly and it is recommended to get the whole assembly since there is almost no price difference between the door switch assembly and just the lever. Check your model for more details.

Dryer wont start. starter switch is new and timer will run when the door is closed

HI. if the timer is running, and the wiring harness is in good condition, this will confirm motor failure. I would advise to test the operational value of the door switch as well but if the door switch is working, this will only lead to motor failure.

Dryer will not start have replaced the heating element, door switch and on switch

hi, i recommend inspecting the terminal block that the power cord is connect to on the back side of the dryer. this terminal block may be faulty or, the cord could be lose and not connected properly.kindly, inspect this device that is located on the back side of the dryer for lose connections. if the termainakl block is in good conditon and, the power cord is screwed on tight, thsi iwll confirm timer fialuer.

replace the timer in this case.
