My sound wont work. i've tried everything but it says i have no audio dive . i dont know what else to do

Newer sound cards use Microsoft's Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) bus. This means that you usually need to install the UAA bus driver first, then the audio chipset driver.

If the sound card came with your system, go to the system manufacturer's website and download drivers for your model. For example, Gateway downloads at http://support.gateway.com/support/drivers/dlcenter.asp

Gateway has a pretty good download section, so you might be able to find what you need on your own. If you can provide more specifics about your computer and/or sound card, we can usually give more specific guidance to the correct downloads. For example, manufacturer, model, operating system, etc.

Hello !

Here's the general support link for your laptop, from the Gateway site (copy and paste):

http://support.gateway.com/s//Mobile/Gateway/6000Series/5376nv.shtml

and here's the audio driver:

http://support.gateway.com/support/drivers/getFile.asp?id=20463&dscr=Gateway%20Conexant%20Audio%20Driver%20Version:%206.14.10.0565&uid=246266801

Select "download now" and download, run and install the audio driver.

No sound driver working on my gateway notebook pc

Did you check the Device Manager, the audio driver, has it a yellow ? against it or is it OK and enabled? If it is has the MUTE button been ticked?
If it has a yellow ? against the audio driver then the correct audio driver was not installed. Go to the Gateway Support/download page to download the correct XP driver for your model laptop's audio device and install it.
If the sound still doesn't work check Device Manager to see if the driver was installed and working.
