SOURCE: Cannot download the attachment

First off, make sure this is the correct file format type for what you are trying to download. Is this one or two files you are trying to DL? Make sure they have sent you the correct file extension for each DL.. You can have only one file format extension (EX. .JPG, .PDF, .DOCX, .DOC, .PPS, .XLS.

SOURCE: i got MS office 2007 uninstalled and MS office

To open Microsoft Office Word 2007 .docx or .docm files with Microsoft Office Word 2003, you need to install the Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack for 2007 Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint File Formats and any necessary Office updates. By using the Compatibility Pack for the 2007 Office system, you can open, edit some items, and save Office Word 2007 documents in previous versions of Word.

SOURCE: an added on attachment sent

Since you did not specify the attachment extension like .pdf or .jpeg or anything other we cannot know what program to offer to you unless we know what type of attachment it is. If you could re-post the type of file it is and more information about your computer it would be a good assistance to us. So I can only tell you that you will need to get the program that will open that type of file. Thanks for using FixYa! John

Why does Polaris Office 5 app close when I click on the excel tab to open a file?

First step is to go to settings then apps, select Polaris app and then touch "clear data" and "clear cache". Next check to see if your app is working correctly, if not, uninstall and then reinstall the app. If it is a paid for app, Google play store will know, also doing an uninstall and install should not delete any saved files you have created previously.
Hope this helps

Can't get most of my attachments to appear

With the Web-based Yahoo! Mail service, you can attach to your email message a saved Web page or another document in HyperText Markup Language format.
When you attach an HTML file in this way, Yahoo! Mail won't display the HTML content of the attached file in the email message body.
To view the attachment, you must click the attachment tab above the email message.Yahoo! Mail and HTML
Yahoo! Mail is a Web-based service and it's fully compatible with the coding languages used to design and display Web content, including HTML and XML, Extensible Markup Language.
This means emails sent or received in Rich text or HTML format include clickable hyperlinks, graphics and other Web design elements.
However, Yahoo! handles emails with HTML attachments in a different way to email messages formatted with HTML.

About Yahoo! Mail Attachments
Like most email programs and online services, Yahoo! Mail offers an attachment feature for adding images, video clips, audio files and HTML document to email messages.
Some email programs display the content of the attached file in the email message body, but Yahoo! Mail doesn't provide this feature for any file attachment, whether it's an image, video clip or HTML document.

Viewing Yahoo! Mail Attachments When you attach an HTML document or another file to your Yahoo! Mail message, an "Attachments" button labeled with a "Paperclip" icon appears below the email address fields and above the email message body.
Clicking the "Attachments" button opens a pane containing a list of all files attached to the email. The email sender or recipient can open each attachment to view the files by clicking the file name.

Considerations

When sending a Yahoo! Mail with an attachment, always explain the content of the attachment in the main body of the email message.
A brief explanation will encourage the recipient to click and open the attachment to view the HTML document.
Bear in mind that many email services automatically block HTML attachments because of the security risk of opening HTML files, which can contain viruses, phishing scams or open Web pages with inappropriate content.
If you want to share a favorite Web page with a friend or contact, include a hyperlink to the Web page rather than a saved copy as an HTML attachment.

I cannot open an email attachment on microsoft office 2007. what seems to be the problem?

What type of Attachment is it?? If its a .zip, .rar (compressed) folder you may need a software to open this attachment for you. If it is a .Pdf file you will also need a software to open this type of document. I would recommend Peazip (google Peazip and download/Install) to open compressed files from E mail attachments and extract them to a format Microsoft Office will open (assuming they contain files for MS office). For .pdf files I would use Acrobat Reader (google and download/install) Or Foxit Reader (google and download/install). I hope this helps you get what you need. If you have any other questions please feel free to ask.

I have nokia e63 phone. i cannot download my hotmail attachments

Dear Friend,
Your Attachment File May be
  • Large in SIZE
  • Different in Format(Not Supporting File for Phone)
Do Following
  • Try to Reload The Page
  • And Try To Open Attach
  • Open it in Correct Software(PDF file in Acrobat reader and So)
OR >Suspected a Security permissions issue. Use "Move to" on Hotmail menu to move email to "Sent mail" folder. From there, the attachments will open fine. Because Sent mail folder is a trusted source.

CANNOT OPEN DOCUMENT SENT OR ANY WVM FILES SENT

Files of the 'WMV' (not 'WVM') types should be opened and processed by Microsoft's "W(indows) M(edia) V(ideo) player".

If you have not installed Microsoft Office, nor Microsoft's *free* "Word Viewer" software, then any 'DOC' files cannot be opened/viewed.
Access http://OfficeUpdate.microsoft.com to download the "free" viewers (PowerPoint, Excel, anld Word).

When an emailing an attachment for an example a resume. They other user can not open the attachment i had sent. How can I get this opened?

The possible causes are two:

1. You are sending out a format which the recipient doesn't support (e.g. OpenOffice). To solve this, install utilities such as PDFPrinter, or export the document as PDF. This is a format which almost anyone can read, even if they can't edit it. Otherwise go for Microsoft Office or, if you use OpenOffice, set it to save as "Microsoft Word Document".

2. The recipient has some kind of security in his/her computer which disables opening of all kinds of attachments, possibly excepting only some "deemed safe" ones. There's not much you can do here. Sending documents in Microsoft Office formats sometimes improves chances they'll be deemed secure.

I cannot open attachments and any attachments I send cannot be opened. I am using Yahoo mail and microsoft works word processor. I have sent word files as well as photoes seperatley.

I would recommend to stop using Microsoft Works, as not everyone has it. Microsoft Word will let you open all Word attachments. Word documents are NOT compatible with Works. If you have a copy of Microsoft Office 2003 or 2007 available, you should install it, otherwise, I would recommend that you buy Microsoft Office 2007.

Open attached files from e-mails

If all you are wanting to do is read or print the email attachments, and they have been written using Word 2003 or Excel 2003, you can go to Microsoft.com and download Word Viewer 2003 and Excel Viewer 2003. These two viewers will allow you to read or print either Word or Excel documents as long as the original composer used Word 2003 or Excel 2003, or some earlier version such as 2000 or XP. To the best of my knowledge, Microsoft has not released a viewer for any of its 2007 programs yet.

However, if you are wanting to compose new documents, or edit the attached documents, you will need to have a copy of the program in question.

There is also one other possibility. You can go to openoffice.org and download a free copy of Open Office. I am not sure if the Open Office Suite is 100% compatible with the Microsoft Office products, but it should be close enough to get you by.

One other thing, if you are receiving .pdf documents, you can go to Adobe.com and download the latest version of Adobe Reader. This is also a free download and will allow you to open, view and print the .pdf documents but, again, in order to edit them you will need a copy of Adobe Acrobat (not free) or some other compatible program such as Open Office (again there may be some slight compatibility issues to deal with).

Hope that helps - Graye
