    Good Afternoon Perrin,

I see that you are trying to change the thermofuse on your Electrolux dryer. I will be more than happy to assist you. In order to better assist you, I will kindly ask for the model number of your dryer. You will be able to find it located either on the back of the door or around the edges where the door meets your dryer. Looking forward to hearing from you.

    -Best Regards-

Dryer wont start

I have a Maytag dryer 5600tq0 and my wife had it for 5 years. it stopped turning on. i did a trick by opening the back and locating the small white thermofuse (Part# 3392519), unhook the 2 wires attached and somehow stick a small wire to connect those 2 purple wires together. Then plug the dryer on and if it turns on, then that ThermoFuse is blown. I ordered the ThermoFuse Part# 3392519 from Appliance Parts Stop on Amazon $3.37. I also ordered the small silver n black (with 2 blue wires n 2 thick red wires attached)Thermostat part# 3387134 $5.00 from ACS on Amazon because it works together with the thermofuse and all websites say it is common practice TO CHANGE this also. then plugged everything back and it worked.

Where is thermofuse and thermistor located

The thermofuse and the thermistor is located in the fusing unit.Open the front cover, remove 1 screw and pull out the fusing unit(the left exit cover must open).Remove 2 screws and the unit front cover.Remove 2 screws and the upper cover, remove the harness from the harness guide, unplug the connectors of the two thermistors.Remove one screw, shoulder screw and the harness guide, remove one screw and the thermoswitch cord, remove 2 screws and the temperature detector assy.Using a soft cloth dampened with alcohol or oil, wipe clean the 2 thermistors.Verify a continuity of the thermoswitch and clean using a soft cloth dampened with alcohol, wipe clean the thermoswitch.99% the problem is a thermofuse.

Our whirlpool Ee 3j50rd045v keeps releasing water from the discharge line.We have it set on energysmart and seems to discharge in the afternoon after it hasn't been used for a few hours. We have taken it...

This sounds like the Themal Relief valve is not working properly. Some of these valves have a lever that you can lift to PURGE the valve of debris. If there is too much debris in the valve it lodges in the valve seat and caused blow-by / leakage. In the evnt that your thermal relief valve does NOT have a purge lever and you can not get the valve to seat after going as far as remving it to clean it then it should be replaced. The relief valve is Item 8 of this link:

How do i check the thermo fuse with a voltmeter. i get 120 with top wire removed and zero with the bottom one removed

Please disconnect power before checking the thermofuse. Now use a Multimeter with R X 1 scale and touch the leads to the thermofuse terminals to test for continuity. If you get an infinite reading, it means the fuse has blown and needs replacing. However if you get reading above 100 ohms then the thermofuse is fine.

Please post back for any further assistance.
