Most likely door was left open or door switch is faulty leaving light on when door was closed. also check bulb for proper wattage while your in there

Testimonial: "I manually pushed in the door switches, which worked. fridge blew hot air after I took out the bulbs until husband removed the entire electrical/lens unit. no lights now, but cold inside."

Are the correct bulbs being used in the fridge? You can't just use 'any'. And of course they should be turning off when the door is closed. You can download the manual for your model from several sites that have them, like manualsonline dot com, and others.

S10 pick up back cab break light not functioning

The break light bulb on the back of the cab goes out a lot. Just remove the lens and replace the bulb. Get the bulb from the dealer ONLY! All other bulbs burn too hot and will melt the lens.

2007 Chrysler TOWN AND COUNTRY.. OVRHEAD MAP

I had the same problem on my 07 and it turned out to be caused by the bulbs getting too hot and melting the surrounding plastic which opened the circuit powering them. I was able to fix the problem by removing the bulbs and cleaning the sockets allowing the bulbs to seat correctly. The lenses snap off to give you access to the bulbs. If you are not familiar with how interiors of cars come apart, I would not suggest doing it as you may crack the lens.

On my 2003 venture, both brakelights burn out, they seem to get hot and melt at the base. This happens over the course of two to three weeks. First one goes then the other. What's up with that?

you need to get new board that the bulbs plug in to there not making good conection and make sure you use long life bulbs they dont get as hot

Change rear signal bulb on 2002 ford focus wagon

Open the rear tailgate There are 2 screws that hold light housing in place.. Remove the screws then pull the housing outwards till the clip behind it springs. You then need to knock the housing sideways (outwards) to free the 2 prongs that attach housing to the car body.
Unclip the rear housing from the back of the light unit & change the bulb.

I just saved my fridge / home too, smelled what I thought to be an electrical fire when I opened the Trio doors, immediately looked at the bulbs as a probable cause, and sure enough, the base of the bulb sockets were burned-brown and the plastic housing was to hot to touch without a hot-mit.
Unscrewed the bulbs and set aside out of children's reach and combustable materials.

I'm filing a complaint and service repair today. 8/3/08
