Bad compressor. The relay keeps clicking because it is overheating and that is because the compressor is drawing too much current.

SOURCE: KitchenAid fridge clicks every 5 min or so.

Compressor relay is bad and needs replacing. Easily obtained as a generic part from any appl part supply. Unplug unit until fixed as it will not work anyway. Please contact me if you need further help or leave feedback if appropriate as that is how I get paid. Thanks for letting me help you!

SOURCE: constant clicking sound coming from power box amana fridge

When you heard the click and the compresor stops ,check if it's very hot , if yes the compresor is of on overload and this could happend because 1 the condenser coil is dirty ,2 the relay is bad or 3 the compresor has a problem .Also check if behind the kick plate there's a timer (some units have it there or next to the cold control ) that could cause a problem too.

Clicking sound for 5 or more minutes before motor comes on

That clicking sound is the compressor relay on the Control Board, trying to kick on the compressor. You cant do much about this problem but wait till the compressor no longer wants to run. Then you might aswell purchase a new refrigerator because it would cost around $500-$600 to replace a compressor.

I have a 2003 toyota corolla. My AC would blow cold air for a min or two then when the compressor shut off it would no longer blow cold air or come back on. A new compressor was put in it but it did not...

the ac clutch relay is the problem. It is located in the under hood fuse box. It is a $10 part. The relay will make a clicking sound when activated but the contacts inside are burnt causing no electrical flow to the ac compressor. Simply unplug and replace. The relay is labeled M/G CLT .

replace or blow out the cabin air filter as well. It is located behind the glove box. Instructions are in your owners manual.
