you should check whether the color ink is out or not. If so replace it with a new one. Otherwise just cleaning the print head will solve your problem. To clean the head Go to control panel > open printers and faxes > right click printer icon > Click properties > Find the option "Clean print head" or somthing sismilar. Use it and your problem could be solved. Note: Some printers have seperate software utilities to clean the print head.

Nozzle is clogged.. run the deep cleaning utility on your printer driver..
On your pc, go to control panel then go to printers and faxes..
right click on the Canon PIXMA i8500 icon then go to printing preferences... go to the maintenance tab then run the deep cleaning utility... =)
should fix up the problem.. if not better call up canon tech support for warranty options, because its most probably hardware now if the steps above does not work...
