Question about Whirlpool Washing Machines
Our washing machine is a 6kg 6th sense whirlpool AWO3761/58 it has started to fill with water after we turn it off only to the level of the bottom of the drum
All washing machines have a water level sensor, this can be a tube into the drum that leads up to a switch normally attached to the inside higher up, what happens is the tube gets clogged up with muck and gives a false reading, which needs cleaning out.
Another problem may be your input valve normally a sngle cold water input, the valve can get clogged with limescale and its just slow to switch off even when the power is off. The default is a closed position.
Try switching the machine off at the plug as soon as it finishes, if it starts filling up its the input valve, these can be under twenty pounds on popular auction websites.

F7 in whirlpools means "Clean the filter”.
The following troubleshooting steps would help fix it. Remove the filter on the floor of the machine, including the metal grill. Press & hold the start button (like you do when you want to cancel a program this will drain the water out of your clogged up drain outlet. Clean your filter and grill and replace it. My guess is that the sensor in the drain (a little glass tube) measures whether the water going out is clean enough to decide that your dishes are now rinsed correctly. If your filters clogged, the water going down the drain is still dirty. After a while it gets sick of trying and stops the machine.
