I have the same problem with two vestax parts, which of one is round so sprayglue and three turns around it with thin koper cable.and after that sandpapered itagain and another layer glue, but i had no choice... the part ain't available en a couple of days ago my backside of a pdx 2000 spantanious broke of, but carbon wil hopefully fix it. You need to know of which plastic it's made and get the right glue, but you nee some glassfibre orso also on the inside , or it will brake

Try lifting up the turntable mat. You should see a hole. Note how it fits before removing the belt.

My pioneer pl-200 doesn't play loud enough through my pioneer vsx-521-k receiver

The PL-200 has no pre amp and your VSX-521 has no phono input. You need an RIAA preamp.

I have a Pioneer PL-740 turntable that works extremely well, except there is zero damping when either lifting or dropping (and I mean dropping) the needle. I know there is generally a hydraulic oil that...

most turntables actually only dampen during automatic play and return (eject) not when manually manipulating the needle. Better turntables will have a counterweight at the back of the arm behind the pivot point, but that is to decrease wear on the vinyl and increase needle life and audio fidelity in the higher end.
Some turntables have a lifter arm that is dampened, but if your player doesn't have such a mechanism, or if it has one and you choose to manually manipulate the needle without it's usage, there is no dampening.
The fix unfortunately is to buy a turntable with a dampened lifter arm, and to use the arm when lifting and lowering the needle.

Pioneer turntable is powering up but not not spinning?

Turntable Drive Belt

The chances are the rubber drive belt has either broken or stretched so that it has fallen off the drive pulleys.

You will need to gain access to the underside of the turntable to replace it.

With most turntables the process will be to secure the tone arm (a rubber band will do the trick) before turning the whole thing upside down and unscrewing the base.

Replacement drive belts are easily available on the internet. Search by make and model number of your turntable

My Pioneer PL-112D turntable has a broken drivebelt, is it possible to buy a new one, and is there a diagram showing the belt "routing". Thanks.

I don't believe this belt is being provided by the Pioneer. So I did find another option at a reasonable price on E-bay.

Pioneer PL-570 turntable (c.1973)

Yes first check is that the Gnd wire from your turntable is connected to the Gnd (ground) post at the back of your amplifier with a good clean tight connection.
If the problem persists, check ALL your hi-fi components mains plugs for earth connections including your turntable, then remove the earth connections on all but one component so that you are left with only item earthed.
What does sometimes cause problems is if 2 or more hi-fi separates are earthed and connected to each other the earth cables along with the hi-fi interconnects form an inductive loop that picks up interferance such as mains hum etc.
