How do set the temp on a 15 gallon tank

leave the heater unplugged in the aquarium in for several hours. Then plug it in briefly and see if the neon bulb lights up (sort of an orange color). If it is on, turn the temp set knob counter clockwise until it goes out. Then turn the knob clockwise slowly until the light comes on again. Now your heater is set for approximately the current temp of the aquarium water. Now adjust the knob in very small increments, waiting hours between adjustments until the water is at the temp you want.

The circulation pump on my Fluval Spec V 5 gallon quit working. I bought the tank only three months ago. Any thoughts on why it conked out in such a short time?

did it "conk" out or is the pump impeller stopped by a buildup of material ?? the reason I say this its very unusual for a aquarium pump to go completely out (ive had one running 24/7 for ten years) but in that ten years ive replaced two impellors and cleaned it out over one hundred times , and yes three months is the perfect time period for a cleaning needed !!!

How to fix fluval led

on this tank the lights are built into the filter pump housing , if they go bad it might be possible to retrofit a new sealed light bar into the same space , but you will need to have previous knowledge of electronics and specify L.E.D. lights as they don't work like regular light bulbs but require a special kind of power or will be damaged if hooked to wrong type of power I suppose its possible to use batterys but id have no idea how long that would work

I have a new 306 fluval cannister filter-the flow is not strong at all-just wondered, is it supposed to be a strong flow or gentle return back into tank?

A 306 should be quite strong, first check the flow regulator is fully open, check that the filter motor is the right way round on the filter bucket, check hoses, inlets and outlets for obstructions, try running without media in the filter bucket. Best to try this stuff in the bath!!!

Can someone help me with my fluval chi?

I did some research on the internet for this Fluval Chi-- I see that it is a 50 watt unit-- and others have had some problems with water circulation--- In other words, the pump is not moving enough water--
Could that be a clue?-- What other clues can you give to us to help you further?

Fluval m200 heater is lit and warm but still hasnt heated tank after 36 hrs..200 ltr tank is this normal

Hello. You haven't stated the room temperature and what temp you are trying to raise your tank to, but it sure sounds like the tank is too large for the heater wattage you chose for the tank. The basic rule of thumb is 3-5 watts per gal (about .75 to 1.5 W per ltr) to raise the tank 5 deg-F (approx 2.5 deg-C) above room temp. If you need to raise the tank temp even more, then you will have to choose a larger heater. Using the rule of thumb I would choose at least a 300W heater for a 200ltr tank. Also, do not forget to include the capacity of your refugium/sump, if you use one, in the calculation of your water quantity because you are heating that mass of water as well as your tank.
