SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

SOURCE: How do you unlock the memory card on the Panasonic

Hi,
Make sure the write protect lock is off by taking the card out of the camera, face the card towards you, look for a small white tab on the left hand side of the card, to unlock it push the tab down, it will be at the side of the card like this 59a6de4.jpg .

Hope this helps.

Good luck

SOURCE: How do I unlock the memory card for Panasonic

take the sd card out , there should be a loch on the left side when facing the card with the label up, slide the lock down and try agian or try a different card or else remove all power , wait 30 min , insert battery and try to see if the camera goes on (most pansonics have built in memory , so check if you can record a picture if yes then try the card agian )

Can i use my SD HC 8 GB memory card which I already have and use in me Panasonic DMC-TZ7 camera, in my DVR. Is it the same as the SD card they say to use in their Easy guide instructions

This shouldn't be a problem, I'm sure the DVR should create a separate folder for storing data in, It shouldn't reformat the whole card, But be sure to back up data on card to Hard Drive as a precaution.

My 4gb card in my lumix TZ7 shows max. of 672 shots. same card in canon G9 shopws 2200 shots - both at max resoluyion

HI there i think your lumix camera still in inbuilt memory mode. Make sure you set the default memory as memory card. After that check the setting for Photo pixel. For exam 4mp/7mp/10mp etc. Which is set as per your Canon camera. After that check out & i hope the problem will solve, Thanks & waiting for your feedback.

I have a DMC-TZ7 and purchased a SDHC memory card RP-SDW08GE1K as this is shown by panasonic to be compatible with this camera. When the card is inserted all I get is "memory card error- please check the...

Well, a Panasonic card should work in a Panasonic camera, if they say it will, so ...
First:
Check that the write-protect switch on the card is not set to read only. It should be toward the contact edge of the card.
Next:
Put the card in and try to format it in the camera.  If it takes the formatting then you should be OK
Finally:
If the above does not work, then check that your camera works with a smaller cheaper SD card (say a 1gb size).  If the camera is happy with that then take the SDHC card back to where you bought it and ask for a refund or replacement. Take the camera with you.

New 16GB SDHC class 6 card not recognized by my lumix TZ7

You a correct...your camera can use the card. Is the slide switch on the side of the card in the unlocked position? Go into the camera menu without the card and find "reset"...follow the on-screen instructions. Then try to format the card again. Let me know what happened.
