How do i remove or reset the bios password on an acer aspire 5741

The only way to reset your bios password is to remove your cmos battery. It is a small battery found attached to your motherboard. Most cmos battery is like button cell like this akshay163.gif
If you cannot locate your cmos battery then refer your motherboard manual. If you're computer is using a coin cell battery similar to the above example picture. Removing the battery is relatively simple. use your fingers to grab on the edge of the battery and pull it up and out of the container holding it. Some motherboards have a clip holding the battery down. If your computer has this clip you may need to use one had to move the clip up and the other hand to pull the battery out.
Unfortunately, not all CMOS batteries are removable; some manufactures will only allow a replacement battery to be added. If you're not using a coin cell battery and are not able to determine how to remove it refer to your motherboard or computer documentation for additional assistance in removing the battery or how to insert a new replacement battery.
After removing the battery then replace it.
Your bios password should now have been reset.
Good Luck

Removing the BIOS battery for a short period will not normally work. Try removing it for 20 mins before inserting the battery back.

Hello, Is it possible to reset the BIOS without removing the battery? The battery is on the other side of the motherboard.

If you have attempted to change something in your BIOS so you cannot alter or change any settings because the computer won't boot up properly, unless you have a CMOS reset button on your motherboard the only other way if you can't get into BIOS is to remove the CMOS battery, the CMOS battery is never on the otherside of the motherboard because all the connectors are always on one side of a motherboard

the CMOS battery is a silver flat battery, much like a thing watch battery, remove this battery for 15 seconds so there is no residual power left in the motherboard and then reinsert and reboot your computer

if you can get into BIOS there should be a restore to factory defaults settings in there somewhere.

I want to reset bios password of My Asus TUV4X, because I forgot the pasword instead.

remove all power from the motherboard. then remove the round back up battery from the circuit board. if the battery has a metal clicp on top it's best to gently slide a piece of paper between the arm and the battery as those clips are easy to break. some motherboards actually have a jumper you move to another position to accomplish this. i do not have the manual so this is the next best bet. wait about ten to fifteen minutes before removing the piece of paper and reapplying power. the password should be removed.

p.s. don't count on this working on a dell system

I need bios 4 dell latitude c610

If you can't find the jumper to flash the BIOS or if such jumper doesn't exist, you can remove the battery that keeps the BIOS memory alive. It's a button-size battery somewhere on the motherboard (on elder computers the battery could be a small, typically blue, cylinder soldered to the motherboard, but usually has a jumper on its side to disconnect it, otherwise you'll have to unsolder it and then solder it back). Take it away for 15-30 minutes or more, then put it back and the data contained into the BIOS memory should be volatilized. I'd suggest you to remove it for about one hour to be sure, because if you put it back when the data aren't erased yet you'll have to wait more time, as you've never removed it. If at first it doesn't work, try to remove the battery overnight.
Important note: in laptop and notebooks you don't have to remove the computer's power batteries (which would be useless), but you should open your computer and remove the CMOS battery from the motherboard.

some motherboards will switch on and run after removing the cmos battery also but in some motherboards it is not possible it depends on the manufacture design ...

try changing the cmos battery with the new one that cmos battery might have lost it s power ...

after that also if you face the same problem then there may be some dust particles accumulating in the processor fan due to that it might not be able start clean them and refit and try it ....

if you still face the same problem then if you are using UPS then remove the connection from that and give the direct connection this may solve your problem if there is some problem in the UPS battery ....

any doubts you can reply me

Have you considered it could be the battery has died. Have you tried external power? If the battery is OK then check the battery contacts to make sure they are clean. Has your power supply died and it won't power the laptop or charge the battery? It could be the motherboard but I'd put my money on it's power supply or battery. Without more details being supplied.
