SOURCE: Back flare on Raypak pool heater

You will need to pull the burner tray out and clean and blow out the burners. Then you will need to pull the orfaces from the gas manifold and clean each one and blow out the gas line. Then with a mirror you will need to check the fire brick inside the burner box. Then you will need to replace anything that is damaged. Good luck.

Hello my name is Heath it will be my pleasure to assist you. Find the rollout switch and on the back there is a small red button if you push the button in it will reset the switch. The rollout is usually located near the burner section of the heater.I will attach a picture of a rollout switch which shows the small red button.11c0d2e.jpg

SOURCE: Hi, The pilot won't light

I am thinking it could be the relay. The relay directs the power to the device. In most devices it is the one that makes the 'clicking' sound.

SOURCE: gas ignitor bypass for raypak heater?

to test the pilot, you can use a torch to keep the sensor hot. if it still won't stay on, you have a bad flame sensor sometimes called either a thermopile or thermocouple. very easy to replace.

Heater is cycling on and off, less then one minute cycle time between cycles. Sometimes SPK code comes on and stays on without firing. Have shorted water press switch with no effect. Pretty sure gas...

The SPK Code, indicates that there is power to Igniter and should be producing a Spark to ignite fuel! If this is actually the case, then it is NOT a safety sensor issue, The igniter serves a dual purpose: produce a spark, and then CONFIRM a flame is consuming the fuel. If it does not get a proper Milivolt reading, then gas valve will shut off, hence a cycle occurs. Not enough reading is the same to the heater as no reading! Safety issue. If gas valve stays open, and no flame to consume raw fuel, it will build up and accumulate then when ignition takes place, it go...BOOM! Not Good.
Either insufficient fuel supply/pressure or faulty igniter. It's also not a Gas Valve. It's a simple switching valve, either open or closed.

It sounds like your ignitor may be out. Everything else is good in the safety loop and the heater wants to fire. The last step in the process is the ignition of the main burner. Are you hearing a ticking sound? If not the spark is not being produced.

When we tried to light the heater the CFH shows, then I get a SPK which stays on for aroound 1 minute, then I get a LO. The heater never lites.

The CFH is a Call For Heat.
The SPK tells you that it is creating a spark for ignition.
The LO tells me that you are on propane.
The fact that it doesnt light tells me that either the ignitor is not sparking, or that there is no gas, or an incorrect gas supply.
If this unit is installed with flexible gas line, replace this with rigid black pipe or a larger flex line.
