You have a calcium build up inside the barrel of the faucet. you might be able to take it apart and just clean it or you may possibly need a new cartridge. when putting it back together you will need to put some stem grease on the o-rings so as to not damage them or you will ruin the cartridge and then you will need a new cartridge. the stem grease will make a big differince even on the old cartridge if its not damaged already

o-rings in the spout need to be greased or replaced...use silicon grease if you are greasing them....not petroleum based product.

Replace the "O" rings that are behind the spout portion. You will have to remove the top of the faucet and pull up on the spout section. There will be a couple of "O" rings there. It is best to have Moen send the parts to you as locating the proper size "O" rings can be difficult.

There are several O-rings that you can replace. Visit Moen's website to determine your faucet and the necessary replacement parts. You can call them once you have found your faucet and ask for assistance as well. They are very helpful.

SOURCE: What makes the faucet bind?

I'm just installing the exact same faucet and I found that the side to side motion was binding if I tightened the tap too much from the bottom with the nut & "c" shaped clamp with the 2 set screws. Not sure what it could be if yours was fine & started having trouble.
They have support contact info on their website that you may want to try: http://www.danze.com/customer_support.asp
Good Luck,

I have a Moen 7310 Legend Single Handle Kitchen Faucet. The faucet is difficult to move from either left or right. I am a female with arithritis. What can I do. If I have to remove the handle, would it...

not difficult to take apart, but might be difficult for you to put back together...

lots of steps to repairing the faucet, might be best to call a handyman in your area.
there are several items that need to be replaced, including the O-Rings for the spout (the reason it is difficult to move from left to right), the diverter, the cartridge.
everything needs to be cleaned and greased with non silicone faucet lubricant, not vasoline!

we can run you through the steps if you are brave enough to try and repair. otherwise, I would call a handy man, he can have this fixed in about 20 minutes time.

I am leaking at the base of the spout. if you put any kind of pressure on it to move it from side to side it leaks. this is a two handle kitchen meon faucet

At the base of the spout it should have an o ring on the spout does it have a nut or cap on the spout that will unscrew to gain access to it. turn water off first.

If it is loose you could try tighting it , but most of the time it would be th e or ring.

Why did my moen faucet stop working? I have water flow throughout the house but the flow at the kitchen faucet just suddenly stopped!

Rubber gasket on the water shut off valve under the sink has come off and traveled up into the faucet. It's pretty difficult to get it out. If you have access to an air compressor you may get lucky by taking the faucet completely off the sink and blowing air back from the faucet outlet back into the internal piping to dislodge the rubber piece. If that doesn't work, or you can't use the air compressor method, then it's a trip to the hardware store for a new faucet.

Moen kitchen faucet spout

there should be a removable "button" on the faucet base below the handle. under there, there should be a set screw. loosen the screw, remove the handle. now u can adjust the base, collar, etc. to ur liking...don't forget to reassemble everything the same way u removed them.

When water is on, faucet slowly moves to the back of the sink, where it can possibly flood the counter. This is a brand new faucet.

IF YOU ARE TELLING ME THE FAUCET ITSELF IS MOVING TO THE LEFT OR RIGHT THE FAUCET MAY NEED TIGHTENING
REMOVE THE SPOUT HANDLE, UNDER THE HANDLE YOU WILL SEE A PLASTIC NUT ASSEMBLY THAT YOU CAN TIGHTEN SEE IF THIS SOLVES THE PROBLEM
