Question about Kicker KX600.1 Car Audio Amplifier
That's what turns the amp on and off with the radio. On your radio you will have either a blue or blue with a white stripe or even pink. Check your decks manual. This wire connects to the amp remote terminal. It keeps your amp from always being on and generating unnessary drain on your battery and heat to the amp. Hope this helps

The terminal marked "rem" on most amplifiers (if not all) is for the remote signal.
The remote signal is a low current signal that tells the amp that the carstereo is "ON", this "activates" the Amplifier and turns it off again when the carstereo is turned off, if the amplifier stayed on all the time it would drain your battery while the car is off
so, anyway if your carstereo is enabled to work with an amplifier it should have one wire marked "remote" some brands use a blue wire for such purpose.
If you cant find wich one is the remote wire or you are using an original euipement manufacturer (OEM) carstereo, you need a test licght to check wich wire puts out current when the carstereo is on and switches it off when you turn off the unit, that should be the remote wire.
it is advisable to use that signal to operate a relay instead of directly using the remote wire on the amp, but its more of a security/professional install kind of motive.. so if you understand relays go for it, if not, go ahead and connect the remote to the amp... NOTE: THIS WAY IF YOU SHORT THE REMOTE WIRE YOU RISK DAMAGING THE CONNECTION OF THE REMOTE INSIDE THE HEAD UNIT...
PS: i use carstereo, unit and Head unit as synonyms because english isnt my native language and here we just call them "stereos" but thats just wrong
