SOURCE: Local Area Network UNPLUGGED...?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You should start with checking to see if there is an updated driver for your network card. If not try removing the network adapter under the device manager and restarting the computer. If that doesn't work email me and I'll give you a few more ideas.

Please don't forget to rate!

:)

Thanks!

Boot through ethernet windows 8

to boot through ethernet you must enable a feature called "wake on lan". you may enable it in the BIOS setup screen under Power, or in Windows under Network and Sharing / Change adapter settings, then right-click on the ethernet adapter and select Properties. in Properties scroll down the list to wake-on-lan or wake-on-magic-packet and select Enable.

Automatic on toshiba p755

Not sure what system you are talking about. If you are saying that your Toshiba is automatically powering on then you may have a feature called wake on LAN enabled. Press the key at power on to go into your setup menu, look for the wake on LAN (sometimes called magic packet) feature under power control and disable it.

Notebook won't connect wifi

Hi, assuming your laptop is switched on.
Above the keyboard on the right side are the three 'Easy buttons'. The one on the left is for the wireless function.

Push this button to activate or deactivate the Wireless LAN. When you activate the wireless LAN function, it will search for a wireless LAN signal automatically (assuming you have the wireless LAN driver installed). Just below the screen on the right side is the Status LED Panel, which show six icons, each with its own LED. The first one on the left indicates Wireless LAN status. When the LED is displaying a green light, it indicates that the system is accessing data from, or retrieving data by wireless LAN. So whenever you press the Easy button, you should see the green status light come on or go off. To repeat, if the light is not on, you need to press the Wireless LAN 'Easy Button'. NOTE! If you can't get the button to come on, you will need to re-install the Wireless LAN driver.

Wake on lan enable

enable wake on LAN in bios then download a wake on LAN program. correct the settings to what you want and then test.
just be aware that for WOL to work you need to have a PC on to run the program and then of course send the request

HP ML350 G5 can't auto bootup after shutdown

It's divide and conquer time! First let's see if it's UPS or server related.

Try any, or all, of these Wake-On-LAN utilties to see if the server responds:
http://www.depicus.com/wake-on-lan/wake-on-lan-gui.aspx
http://www.matcode.com/wol.htm
http://www.solarwinds.com/products/freetools/wake_on_lan.aspx

If it does, then there is a problem with the UPS that needs further invesigation.

If it does not, read this article from APC:
http://nam-en.apc.com/cgi-bin/nam_en.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_sid=eIzqf7Ti&p_accessibility=0&p_lva=215&p_li=&p_faqid=2929&p_created=1057853424&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPTEmcF9zb3J0X2J5PSZwX2dyaWRzb3J0PSZwX3Jvd19jbnQ9OCZwX3Byb2RzPTQ1MSZwX2NhdHM9JnBfcHY9MS40NTEmcF9jdj0mcF9zZWFyY2hfdHlwZT1hbnN3ZXJzLnNlYXJjaF9mbmwmcF9wYWdlPTEmcF9zZWFyY2hfdGV4dD13YWtlIG9uIGxhbg**&p_search_text=wake+on+lan

Also, if you are using a switch/router to connect the UPS to the LAN, make sure your network devices are configured to allow WOL.

Check the display cables , and if you have one test a different monitor on your computer.

If this is not a sceen problem, then it is an internal fault possibly the motherboard.

Try first leaving the PC power cord unplugged for ten, fifteen minutes and check if PC restarts afterwards.

My laptop cannot connect to my local network (LAN)

Assuming you initially set up the router using the wired lan adapter and lead, enabled DHCP in the settings. First stand right next to your router; Dells wireless is a little tempremental, go to control panel and in there should be Dell wireless monitor, open this up refresh it and see if it finds any wireless networks, if so try to connect. Dissable your wired network lan adapter. Go to the properties of your wireless card and on the TCP/IP line click properties again and ensure that obtain an ip address automatically is selected, press ok and restart the pc.
