On my nuvi 660, the screen suddenly stoped functioning. I have followed the instruction on page 4 of the manual, disconnected the external power, oressed the reset button, reconneted the power and it did not turn back on and start to operate. On pressing the ON button, it restarted and lasts about 10 seconds and goes black again. Help Fred

Conect your gpd device to computer with usb cable then check it working.
Also remove battery from it for some time then refix it then check.
Also try another battery.

My nuvi 660 turns on but displays "loading maps"

Hello,

The problem is that the nuvi 660 gps receiver is jammed and needs to be reformatted.
What you have to do is to disconnect the gps, and connect it to a computer, then format it.

After formatting it, you download the self extracting archive files for your nuvi on to your hard drive, then connect your nuvi to a free USB port on your PC interface cable and allow your nuvi to initialize and enter USB mode, Unzip the files by running the downloaded executable files, then follow the instruction provided by the launched update application on your PC.

Then install it back in your car and turn it on, it will work once again.

Take care and good luck
i hope this helps?

Gps garmin nuvi 660

Please read the solution that resolved this problem for someone else. Most likely, you have already tried this. However, the antenna of your Nuvi 660 is the same as the 3xx Nuvi series. I know this because I have worked on them.

http://www.fixya.com/support/t1115882-garmin_nuvi_360

If the above procedure does not work for you, the entire antenna assembly will need to be replaced.
The other option is to purchase an external antenna for your Nuvi and plug it into the external antenna port (gold connector) on the Nuvi antenna assembly.

Best wishes,
- Jim

Garmin Nuvi 660 - how do I get FM Transmitter firmware

I believe in your location it comes as an option. transmitter is an optional module. You can browse the user manual at following link (PDF file) http://www8.garmin.com/manuals/1262_OwnersManual.pdf
You can see at 35th page, simple instructions have been given for FM transmitter settings.

If it doesn't work please contact to the Manufacturer. I couldn't find Garmin's Ireland number. However you may call UK number +44-870-8501242. Or simple you call your reseller.

Good Luck
