How can I increase the volume on my Sprint

How can I increase the volume on my Sprint Instinct Samsung SPH-M810? It's not very loud and it doesn't give me a chance to answer it before going to voicemail when I do hear it.
I'm very frustrated with this phone.

The two buttons on the left side of the phone, One is Up and the other is Down. Also goto your Menu/Settings/Ringers and adjust the volume there also. Just press the two buttons on the left side of the phone, you will see it increase and decrease. Level 8 is the highest, which is very loud.
