Mike, it may be a bad regulator, but is may also be correctable without buy any parts. To solve the problem do the following:

To solve this problem, first be sure you have adequate gas in the tank. If that checks out OK, do the following:

1. Turn the gas tank valve OFF and disconnect the hose from the tank.

2. Wait 5 minutes and reconnect the hose to the tank.

3. Open the tank valve VERY, VERY SLOWLY (Slow motion, slow).

4. Once the tank valve is fully open, light the burner farthest from the tank first and set the burner
control knob on HIGH. Does the flame height look correct for being set on HIGH? If so, light
the remaining burners the same way. Do all the burner flames look correct? If so, you solved
the problem. Remember, to always open the tank valve Very, Very Slowly.

If that didn't solve the problem, you will need to replace the grill's Hose/Regulator Assembly. It runs about $30.00 at any home center or hardware store that sells grills & accessories. If you replace it, turn the tank valve ON Very, Very Slowly.

Hope this helped you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Happy Grilling!! Thanks for choosing FixYa.

Can i get parts to convert my capn cook 4 burner bbq grill to lp

The BBQ's Galore grills are the only ones that are approved to be field converted. All you need a 4 LP Gas Burner Orifices and a Hose Regulator Assembly to hook to a LP Gas grill tank. You can buy the orifices from BBQ's Galore and the Hose/Regulator Assembly from any hardware store or home improvement center that sells grills & accessories for about $30.00. Gas grill burner orifices are pretty universal, so any LP Gas ones should work.

Hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

The front burner will not ignite. The middle and rear burners seem to function properly. Any suggestions for what needs to be repaired/replaced?

First Make sure the gas is turned off. You then need to clean the gas orifice and make sure it is not plugged up. Remove the front burner, using a paper clip clean the orifice. Make sore the burner is not plugged up and if it is use a wire brush to clean the burner. If this does not fix your problem the you will need to change the gas control for that burner. I hope this heps you with your problem.

I need to convert my weber genesis b to nat. gas. Have the hose. bought a replacement manifold part and installed but doesnt seem to work. STEVE 269-600-8111

Steve, you also need to change the burner(s) orifices to Natural Gas orifices. Natural gas won't work with Propane orifices.

Good luck and Happy Grilling!!

I have a Nexgrill 720-0073 stainless grill. The grill doesn't get very hot - around 200-250 and the flame level is low (BOTH sides). Tried a new tank of propane - same thing. I cleaned the burners late...

Hi and welcome to FixYa. I am Kelly.

Things that cause low flames

1. LPG Tank regulator internally corroded and diaphram can not open enough to supply the correct amount of pressure. (replacement regulator required) If you do an tapping on the regulator disconnect it from the tank and if you do strike it... use WOOD! Tap from bottom and then from top.... several times. When your done... do it one more time. This may correct the problem for a short period but if it is corroded internally the problem will repeat in as little as a month.

2. The orifice holes are restricted due to spider webs insects ets. (Remove burner and Physically clean the orifice mounted on the back of the gas valve.) Worst case the orifice has to be removed and the mini orifice hole cleaned.

3. Clogged internal burner air / gas passage (remove again and clean) Use a tooth pick to clean main burner holes. Use spot tie or something long and skinny to probe into the burner air / gas passage. (Wire coat hanger works too)

4. The burner gas valves on the stem nut side are coated with grease not allowing full movement of the valve stem inside the gas valve. (remove and clean with engine degreaser)

Thanks for choosing FixYa.

Inadequate flame and heat

I'd change the regulator, clean the burners and the surrounding area. Make sure that the air intakes around the burners aren't blocked , plugged..
Also check the gas orifices for cleanliness... outdoor grilles are nutorious for bug hotels... these little critters move in, lay eggs and it can screw up the burners, orifices... I've several times needed to remove orifices to clean the inside of mini spider nests... Look them over closely..

Burning tube has gas going through it and flame but it doesn't get hot enough to grill. Any idea what the problem is?

I had this problem and it was a safety feature kicking in.

Turn off the tank valve. Disconnect the hose. Wait a few minutes. Reconnect the hose. SLOWLY turn the tank valve all the way open. Like, over the course of 90 seconds or so. WAIT ANOTHER TWO MINUTES.

Now turn the grill to START and give it a few tries. It should start at full power.

The hose has a mechanism built in whereby if the whole system is not fully pressured up at starting, the gas slows to a trickle.

A nice lady at Weber revealed all this to me.

Low gas flame

Also read the manual, You must open the LP tank valve very slow, the new tanks have funny safety design, I had low flame on the 2nd use w/full tank and was puzzled because it was high flame on the night before.
