Why won't the pressor foot for the simplicity se2 embroidery system lower?

Pressor foot will go up and down but will not lower to the fabric. What can be checked to lower the pressor foot all the way down.

Slowly move the presser foot lever down while putting light pressure towards the rear of the machine. Just before the foot is fully down it will click into a position toward the back of the machine. This is the embroidery position.

Easiest way to get the tensions right, use 4 different coloured threads

Make sure the tension disks are clean........run a length of fabric in a see saw fashion through each tension unit.

....set all the dials to 3 or 4 then sew test.......take a look at what needs attention, make a small adjustment and test/adjust until the needle threads are firm and the looper threads meet neatly at the edge of the fabric with just the absolutely tiniest hint of being loose.

Is the presser foot lever up or down? It should be down before you step on the foot controller or use the start/stop button.

SOURCE: where to find a not snap-on 1/4" with edge pressor

Go to www.allbrands.com and you can buy a low shank screw on presser foot. I am assuming that it is a low shank. (I looked up your manual on www.singerco.com for free) It is $14.95, I think. Good luck

Bar that sewng foot is attached to for raising & lowering suddenly will not drop sweing foot all the way down to plate. Any suggestions on how to fix?

Perhaps you accidently moved the switch that enables free hand embroidery? It's up and under next to the pressor foot lever. Slides forward and backward. Forward the pressor foot will go all the way down to the feed dogs. Slid back and it keeps the foot up off the feed dogs but allows the thread tension to work properly. It would be easy to accidently move it when operating the pressor foot raise/lower lever.

6020 off problem

Not sure, but am thinking perhaps the tension disk has gunk or threads stuck in it. Try soaking a length of perl cotton in rubbing alcohol, squeeze out the excess. Raise the presser foot and loosen the tension disk as far as possible and gently pull the perl cotton DOWN through the tension disk a few times.

If that doesn't help, then it's possible a spring in the tension mechanism or something in the presser foot lever is malfunctioning.

How do i thread my needle with the singer handy stitch?

  1. Loosen needle screw & insert needle with shank's flat side facing front of machine. Push needle in all the way, then tighten screw to hold needle in place.
  2. Install a fully wound bobbin by loosening bobbin nut & placing bobbin on top. Re-attach bobbin nut & tighten. If standard thread spool will be used, then attach spool pin to bobbin shaft & place thread spool onto shaft. Attach white spool cap on end of thread spool, then tighten. Bobbin/spool should unwind facing forward toward needle.
  3. Bring end of thread through thread guides & over tension control. Pass end of thread through needle eye, from back to front, & pull it out about two inches.
  4. A spring pushes pressor foot onto fabric that is being sewn, so lift pressor foot & place fabric underneath.
  5. Turn large handwheel on side of machine (handwheel can be turned in either direction) to raise needle arm to its highest position.
  6. Holding the Handy Stitch in place with your right hand, press on power switch & begin sewing. Guide fabric (being sewn) with your left hand.
  7. To end this sewing session, turn off power. Turn handwheel to raise needle to its highest position. Carefully pull out about three inches of thread through needle & snip, then lift pressor foot to remove fabric. Turn fabric over & loop needle threader through last stitch. Place end of thread from underside through eye of needle threader, & pull to loop through. Pull to tighten and snip end of thread.

My babylock ellure won't work on the embroidery mode, but works on the sewing mode. I only use this machine for embroidery. When I turn it on it tells me to lift the pressor foot, which I do, but nothing...

Ours did the same thing. They said it was the circuit board for embroidery that went bad. The one for sewing is still good. They wanted $200 to $300 to replace it.

I can't get the pressor foot on the silver part came off and the actual pressor foot

Place the foot under the arm while arm is in up position. Put arm in down position and foot should snap into place (line it up where it is supposed to go together before lowering the arm).

Hi I have a Husqvarna 1+ when the pressor foot is in the down position a warning indicator states that the pressor foot is not down and the machine will not function.Any sugestions would be greatly...

The problem could be caused by a couple of issues. It is either with the switch that is located above the foot, that tells the circuit board when the foot is up or down, or with the circuit board itself. It could also be the lever you lift the foot up and down with. Inside the machine that lever has a plastic "fin" on it that touches the switch. It is possible that the lever is broken. Either way, you need to take it in for service.

There is an in- between setting. It's not up, but not down either. Does that make sense? If you put the lever up, then bring it down slowly and kind of push it to the back. Hope this helps!
