Make sure you are using a brand new needle. Old, damaged or bent needles often will not pick up the bobbin thread.

Singer hook timing - needle breaking


Not an easy fix. This one is going to require someone to timing knowledge to fix. Generally, there is a plastic gear with 2 screws that needs to be release in order to reset the timing.

Broke a needle and now the bobbin thread won't pick up


This is something that is very delicate and requires experience to fix. It is a timing issue and sorry to say you are going to have to take it to a sewing machine shop to get it fixed. in most cases this is a small charge around 50-80 dollars to fix.
it would be way to complex and long to put everything here to fix it yourself.
