insert wide flat blade (such as a wide flat bladed screw driver) into seam along one side. Twist carefully until seam starts to prise apart - carry on until you hear the "crack" of the press-tabs coming apart and repeat along the the length of the seam until you can carefully pull it apart.

SOURCE: Disassemble or open the remote control Sony RM-YD035

if Sony Remote RM-YD035 does not change channels or turn off TV, the buttons got dirty coz those are you most used buttons.

You can repair Sony Remote RM-YD035 yourself. It's quite easy and fast, with perfect result!

To disassemble or open the remote control Sony RM-YD035, first remove a single screw in the battery compartment. Then use a very thin but strong screwdriver and insert it between top cover and the body at the back part of the battery compartment. Move the screwdriver up and down and slowly move it to the left and to the right and continue along the perimeter. Use two or three such screwdrivers and in 2-4 minutes the top cover plate with buttons will separate from the body/bottom/casing.

Clean both parts thoroughly. And then gently put them back together in the opposite order. The parts will snap closing.

You are done.

Mine is now working perfectly

My control remote sony bravia lcd not funcion, model RM-GD004

At first, check if battery contacts inside the battery compartment for any dust of rust accumulated. Clean them well, and insert fresh batteries and check. Check its infrared emission. You can check it by using a cellphone with camera option. If there is no infrared emission, you have to check its infrared LED at the front of the remote control for damage or loose solder terminals. For this, you have to open the remote control. If you wish to get more details about how to check and clean a remote control, visit this site. It has a post, that describes how to clean a remote control. Good luck.

The two screws inside the battery compartment would not really hold the case together. Try using two flat screwdrivers working on the side of the remote control; one levered open a bit and the other slipped in further and levered more to split it open. I think a blunt knife may also do the job; but never a sharp one because it will be too dangerous.

How to open remote control Sony RM-Y181

There should be small screws (usually phillips head) at either the top, bottom or both ends of the back of the remote. Unscrew those and pry loose. If not, they will be under the batteries, inside the battery cover.

I assume that's what you mean by open?
