John It's not the normal type of answer we give. We don't have battery diagrams so I wouldn't know off hand without having a voltage meter and that specific battery on hand. Motorola Support

Well since you were unwilling to answer i will take an educated guess, I own the A and C variants of that model and on both if you flip the battery over so the contacts are facing up and away from you the far left is negative and the far right is positive.

Really? So you just decided to wing it when designing the battery?

Show proper battery hookup for 24 volt trolling motor, 2' 12 volt batteries

to get b24 volts from 2 x 12 volt batteries
connect the negative (- ) terminal of one battery to the ground point on the motor
next connect the positive terminal (+ ) of that same battery to the negative terminal of the next battery
connect the positive terminal of the last battery to the power terminal of the motor
so it will be negative to ground , positive to negative , positive to motor or motor control
(-) to ground (+ ) to (-) , (+) to motor
That is called a series connection and increases the voltage available

Trying to charge battery for first time. It says connect two red connectors. Do you charge it first then connect the connector afterwards?

1. I assume this is a car battery so the first thing you do is to disconnect the vehicle cables from the battery terminals. The negative first and then the positive. The positive terminal is marked with a plus sign ...+ ... When refitting the cables to the
battery after it is charged you fit the positive cable to the positive battery terminal(+) first and fit the negative(-) last.

2. Now that the battery is unconnected from the vehicle you can fit the charging cables to the battery terminals. The charger you have should have 2 cables leading from it , a positive with a red plastic insulation on the clip and a negative cable probably with black insulation on the clip. The instructions with the charger will tell you in which order the cables are to be attached to the battery and the order you remove them. Each of the 2 cables has to be clipped onto the correct battery terminal. The positive cable(+) from the charger goes to the positive battery terminal (+)and the negative cable(-) from the charger goes to the negative battery terminal(-).

3. Once the cables from the charger are properly connected to the battery, you can plug in the charger and turn on the power.

4. Batteries generate explosive gasses when being charged and it only takes one small spark to ignite them. Don't reconnect the battery after charging for a half hour or so and make sure the area where you are charging is well ventilated.

Need a 36 volt battery

Depending on the space available, physical dimensions of the battery you are replacing and its amp hour rating; you may want to wire three 12v batteries in series (or if you have the room, six 6v batteries). On one battery, you should have one Positive + (usually red) terminal to connect your Positive + (Red) cable from your equipment to and the other terminal (Negative - Black) would jumper to the Positive of the second battery. From the Negative terminal of the second battery, jumper to the Positive terminal of the last battery, leaving the Negative terminal for your equipment Negative - Cable (Usually Black) to connect to. All jumpers between batteries must be the same size wire as the equipment cables to carry the amperes of the equipment load (Usually a motor).

Looking in to purchasing a Ultra Xfinity 2000VA 1200w UPS ULT33046.....wanting to know how many batteries it contains to see what future costs might be....

It contains two universal #1290 9AH batteries with F2 connectors. The batteries are taped together side by side with the terminals in a vertical straight line so that the positive terminal of one is at the bottom left position, the - to + shunt connects the two middle terminals, and the negative terminal is at the top position. Be sure and write down the names of the connectors that the battery cables connect to on the board before you remove the batteries. There are two possibilities for both the positive and negative terminals.

How to switch out the battery

Remove Negative terminal first, then positive terminal. Battery will have some type of tie down or block at base with a bolt you will have to remove. Remember how it goes back together. Remove battery.
Install new battery and tie down or block. Install Positive terminal then Negative terminal.
Remember to never touch both Positive and negative terminals with a metal object (ie..ratchet, wrench etc) this can cause injury and/or permanent damage to a new battery.

How to remove battery in 1992 Toyota Corona so it can be recharged

(1) Loosen screw on negative ( - ) terminal clamp, lift negative cable off terminal, and put cable end somewhere where it can't touch the battery. This stops the positive terminal from being "live" with respect to the rest of the car.

(2) Lift plastic cover from positive ( + ) terminal. Loosen screw on positive terminal clamp, while making sure your screwdriver is nowhere near the negative terminal at all times. Lift positive cable off terminal, and put cable end somewhere where it can't touch the battery.

(3) Loosen the butterfly nuts over the clamp that holds the battery to the tray. One butterfly nut will have to come off completely, the other can stay on so you don't lose the clamp down the middle of the engine. Swing the clamp off to one side.

(4) Lift the battery out of the tray, keeping it upright at all times.

To reinstall the battery, follow the above steps in reverse order.

  • Loosen the battery positive terminal clamp.

  • Use a terminal clamp puller to remove the positive clamp.

  • Remove the battery hold-down hardware and any heat shields.

  • Remove the battery from the tray.

  • Install the new battery into the tray.
  • Also install the hold-down hardware.

  • Install the positive battery cable.
  • Then install the negative cable.
  • When installing a battery, be careful to observe the correct polarity. Reversing the cables destroys the diodes. Proper polarity must also be observed when connecting a booster battery, positive to positive and negative to ground.

  • Coat the terminals with corrosion preventative spray, then check the job by starting the car.
