it sounds like you have a problem with the thermostat that tells the oven to switch off when it gets to the right temperature if the temperature exceeds the setting you choose then the oven will shut down as a safety feature you can get these replaced but because of the age i wouldnt know where to get them from if you get somenody to come and replace it for you it would be cheaper than buying new cooker then this should get your cooker working nrmally i had this problem but on a different make and model but doing this dolved the problem the only problem i did have was locating the right part number but after i got it it only took repair man 1 hour to fit it and done it for less than 50 quid hope this is some help ..................................

SOURCE: My Smeg oven does not
the fault is from the heating element of your oven. I don't want to believe that the heating element is defective.
It is possible that the wire connected to the heating element has loosed contact. This can be caused by the heat of the oven. The heat can melt the wire or maybe the wire got disconnected for one reason or the other.
Find a way to disassemble the oven. I don't mean the whole oven, but the heating element part. Check if the wires are connected properly.
This I believe is the step to take to fix the heating problem. But if all the wires are intact, then it means the heating element is defective, that's why the oven is not heating. You can get the heating element replaced in this case.
