Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: Wireless Lan on HP Pavilion M1000

Surely you can find out if you have a wireless network card installed . For this you can goto device manager and under network adapters look for any wireless adapter.

Heres How you check device manager.

  • Right-click My Computer then select Properties
  • Select the Hardware tab
  • Click the Device Manager button
  • Alternative solution: invoke devmgmt.msc
  • Alternative solution #2: Device Manager is part of the Computer Management, which also includes Event Viewer, Services Manager, Disk Management, as well as many other things. Right-Click My Computer then select Manage to start Computer Management, or invoke compmgmt.msc.

Also I am not too sure about what system you are using and whats the operating system you are using.

SOURCE: installed XP Pro and system doesn't recognize network adapter

Yes, you have to install the integrated network adapter drivers since your XP cd didnt have it. I dont know what type of system you have, but depending on your PC model you can usually download the specific driver from your vendors online. Example, you can go to Dell, choose Support and it will take you to their Drivers and Downloads section where it will ask for your PC's credentials ( serial numbers, model, etc).

Hi durgaaprosad,

Based on your situation. I suggest trying the following steps:

1. You can download the wireless and lan driver from here:

http://consumersupport.lenovo.com/us/en/DriversDownloads/drivers_list.aspx?CategoryID=600154

2. go to Networking: Wireless LAN section and make sure you select the Windows XP or Vista version of the drivers that matches your Windows operating system.

3. After downloading the wireless driver driver install it and then restart your computer.

4. You can use wireless connection in absence of LAN connection.

Hope it helps.

Thanks for using FixYa

Wireless LAN problem

Make sure that the built-in wireless lan is disabled. If your pc is XP or vista, uninstall the new WIRELESS LAN(go to control panet, add/remove programs), select the Atheros Software. Leave the WIRELESS ADAPTER connected to your pc. Insert the disc, do not run the set up. RESTART THE PC. The drivers for the WIRELESS ADAPTER should install, if not load drivers manually.
MAKE SURE WIRELESS ZERO CONFIGURATION for XP is running. You should be able to detect wireless networks.
