most trimmers are 50:1. or 40:1. i would use synthetic 2 cycle oil and use the 50:1 ratio. i know guys with trimmers that require 50:1, and they use synthetic at 80:1 with no problems for years. they say the engine runs cleaner. i am a part-time lawn care operator.

between 32:1 and 50:1 should be OK.
The best bet is to buy the premeasured 2 cycle fuel/oil mix in the bottles. They come with 8oz for a gallon of fuel.

A good gas/oil ratio is one ounce of oil per quart or four ounces of oil per gallon of unleaded gasoline. Hope this helped and best wishes.
