GE Simon 3 low battery warning: fairly new battery (1yr) has 6.54 Volts, should be plenty for 6V system. Have unplugged battery and charge transformer, then reattached battery, followed by transformer several minutes later. Why does it still have a low battery alarm? Also, the low battery announcement and light will go away for a few days and then return. What do the experts think the problem is? Failed sensor on the circuit board? Charger problem? Have checked the charger output and holds the battery at 6.5V.
