My tv comes on, the power light comes on, but it won't stay on, it goes off by itself a few seconds later. Is there a solution to this?
My tv has the same problem, but I don't have a ?input? key. Only a menu key on the front. And it blinks six times with no pause. What can I do?

Re: Tv won't stay on
The TV is in some kind of protection mode, the blinking LED show you an error code.
Try pressing 062596 and then press menu button (do these in quick
motion, don't let them to time out while keying)...see what happens
I also heard that this problem appeared with some people because the of
the burnt fuse in the TV. To fix that it has to be taken to the tech
And yes I also heard about this issue many times, seems like this TV set is very popular with this kind of problem.

Before going OFF, the standby LED might blink. These blinks are fault indication. The number of blink should be counted. Count the number of blinks at one time, before the TV goes OFF. [eg: 4 blinks Power SOS P Board; 6 blinks Driver SOS 1 SU / SD / SC Boards
(SC energy recovery circuit)] and so on. you can get more details from this site named 'Electro-help'. You can reach it by searching the keyword "electronicshelponline" by internet.
i am having the same problem. My Phillips 37" 37PF9431D/37I LCD High Definition TV won;t turn on. When I press the power button i hear a click and the green light comes on for a couple of seconds and then the red light appears. I can;t figure it out. Did you find a solution?
1. Hold [menu] and [vol-] button on the side of the TV
2. while holding these, press the [power] button on the side of TV (NOT remote)
3. blue light comes ON and stays ON
4. wait 10 seconds then let go of [menu] and [vol-]
5. wait another 30 seconds and some type of picture should appear
I think this is right. I got it from the JVC call centers guys so sorry if I missed or messed up a step.
My parents bought the same tv, TV ran fine for 2 years then started giving them problems. Blue light comes on then few seconds later turns to yellow. Turn tv off then back on it worked, until last week it would not turn on.
Took it to a repair shop they said it was a bad power supply and it will cost 50$ for this check up, as it turns out the total bill would be $650 minus the original $50 it would only cost you $600.
Needles to say i took the tv home with me. Since they were not going to use it i started looking at it took the back off, removed all heat shiels ect. Took my magnifing glass out and started looking at the power supply come to find out the part was made in China, it was missing a solder joint, pulled my old soldering gun out, five minutes later the tv came back to life.
If your set was manufactured around July 2005, you may need a firmware upgrade to solve this issue. On the Sony website you can enter your model # and serial # to see if you TV is affected. If so, it is easy to have done and may be free from Sony. It sounds like the issue they described in the writeup on the required formware update. I had mine done within few months of when i bought it (purchased in Dec 2005) and it has been working flawlessly since.
