Stanley sharpshooter tre500 electric heavy duty staple and brad nailer. The trigger is very sensitive, it will fire several staples at a time when the trigger is squeezed. How do I correct this proble

My Stanley TRE500 electric staple gun is trigger sensitive. It fires several staples at a time. How do I correct this problem?

No you don't. We answer most things here.

You push the back in slightly to unlatch it and then drop it down a bit and the staple pusher comes out completely.

Can i use 3/4 inch brad nails in my stanley tre500 sharpshooter?

According to Stanley's own website, the TRE500 will only use either 1/2" or 5/8" brads.

Loading staples into a Stanley sharpshooter staplegun


There are 4 staplers in the Stanley SharpShooter family. You drop the staples on top of the "slide out loader," then slide it into the gun. See models and staple sizes below:


TR150HL Stanley Sharpshooter

My stanley tre500 shoots like a semi automatic weapon. Is it adjustable? Thanks Nancy


Hi Nancy,

Do you mean it rapid fires, or do you mean fires the staples to deep?
If it fires too deep, the adjustment for that is on the back of the gun. The + and - give more/less depth. Adjust it towards the - direction to get the brad/staple to no penetrate as far.

What to know if there is 1/4 inch brads for the TRE500 sharpshooter?


This tool only accepts brads from a minimum length of 12mm (half inch). It will accept staples from 6mm though. (quarter inch)
