Wont rinse or spin

I think your washer's drive belt has broken, Joanne. You'll need to have someone replace it. That's a pretty easy fix, but they'll need to know your washer's model number before they arrive so they can bring the correct belt to fit it.

No drainage, Sound in Spin/Rinse Cycle

You may have a broken pump belt, or belt may have fell off pump pulley. Another possibility is that you have a bad clog before the pump keeping water from draining. Your machine will agitate because this is a separate belt. Good Luck Friend.

Kenmore washing machine catalyst stops during rinse cycle

The hum you here is the probably the motor trying to turn, but it is about burned out. If it moves a little with a full load and more with no load, it is probably bad. If you hear a hum and the drum never moves at all you probably have a broken belt.

We have a Maytag washing machine, model #HAV2460AWW, rev.10, serial #10359656CR. Just recently it started making a grinding noise that reminds me of a piece of wood jumping up and down against a bandsaw...

we just had the same problem and it was the bearing on the bottom of the pump, then it seized and we could possibly have to replace the motor to because of the load the bad pump put on it, I wish you luck with yours.

I filled my washing machine with clothes tonight and it got to the end of the short cold wash cycle and had stopped running so I pushed in the knob then pulled it back out and then pushed it back in and...

It sounds as if the machine doesn't spin during the spin cycle. Normally the agitator stops spinning, fairly quickly, if the lid is opened during the spin cycle. That safety circuit includes a switch mounted under the opening and is set by a tab on the lid that protrudes thru a small hole in the top of the washer. The most likely failure on most Kenmore models is that switch, broken or loose, the tab on the lid broken, or the two misaligned. I would need the model number of your washer, located on a tag on the bottom of the lid to be more specific

Spin cycle not working

Maybe the spring device that keeps the belt tight is not working properly. You need to make sure what ever it is that keeps that belt tight is working properly or not damaged. The belt is very important for the spin to work good. Match it up with your old belt. The old belt will be slightly longer because of being stretched over a period of time. Get your unit number and model number (or take the belt) and go to your nearest dealer and get the correct belt.
