The paper goes in from the front, under the 'paper output' tray.

5110 Carriage lift mechanism error

Try:

• ERROR LCD: Error Code 5100
• ERROR LCD: Error code (5xxx through 9xxx) appears on the display
• ERROR: Service error XXXX appears while printing from the computer
• ERROR LCD: Error Code 5110

According to the manual, error 5110 means "Carriage lift mechanism error".

1. Turn off the printer.

5110 is Carriage lift mechanism error.First, make sure there is no paper jam anywhere in the machine.. look inside, rear, where the paper tray (output) is, etc to see if you find any shreds or torn paper that may have gotten stuck and you didn't see.Look carefully in the zone of Purge unit, using flashlight in the right side on printer.If this not help your printer need service.

try to reinstall the printer dirvers

5110 ERREOR is carraige cant life. this can be down to a few things, carriage is stuck on the purge unit or the logic board is at fault. best to take it to a Canon dealer for repair or contact a supporter dealer who can do a chargeable call for you. in the uk i have few contacts . hope this helps
