Have a GE WSXH208HWW Spacesaver, Washing Basket is wobbling. What is the problem and can I fix it myself?

2 possible problems. On the outside of the tub front and on the top back are cement counter weights that are bolted to the tub. If they are coming loose, they would cause the tub to go off balance and wobble. If just the stainless inner tub is the one that wobbles, that suggests a bad rear drum bearing. The counter weight problem easy to fix once you get the top and back off and just need re-tightened. The back drum bearing is something even trained techs want to avoid. It requires removing the complete tub/drum assembly from the washer----then splitting the outer tub in half to replace the inner drum and bearing assembly. Cost for parts will be excessive and not worth the repair.

I have a GE Select Top loading wash machine that is making alot of noise during the spin cycle. 99/2000 model

If it sounds like a jet plane taking off, a grinding noise, it is the bearing. This is pretty difficult to replace. If you do attempt it, you MUST replace the inner tub seal. This is leaking onto the bearing, causing it to go bad.

Tub has a wobble in it . front seems loose.

Could be loose bolt @ back of pulley or Drum bearing gone which makes drum very noisy on spin expensive to fix..

Front panel of washing machine is loose when spinning

I had a Sears repair guy come out, and it turns out that one of the shocks had come loose, causing the tub to be unbalanced and spin without the support it needed to stay still!! When the front panel was opened up, I could see that one of the supports holding it up was not in place, so it was an easy fix! Now it works wonderfully!

Big nut that holds tub and agitator in place keeps coming loose

Try to put some red thread lock on it. Red is permanent and blue is not permanent. I would use the red if you do not need to take apart again.

Good Luck
