Most pumps that won't prime are not recieving a good seal on suction line (inlet) ck alll the fittings for good o-rings and ck filter lid as well , hairline cracks too can develop in hard plastic over time and rough treatment this can lead to loss of prime , one other reason and it's the most expensive reason is pump seal at drive end has went bad and sucking air if your handy with a wrench then you can source a new seal from jacuzzi if not replace entire pump (thats the expensive way)
