I need to replace electric starter with manual starter for ariens 948401-210e series cultivator

you must go to the supplier manufactue to request service manual for this procedure. However you can do this:
Remove the mower deck:
  1. Make sure that the parking brake is locked.
  2. Place scrap lumber under the front and rear of the deck.
  3. Use the deck lever to lower the deck.
  4. Remove attachments from the deck.
  5. Remove the blade drive belt from the front pulley.
  6. Remove the front and rear deck fasteners, following instructions in your owner's manual.
  7. Use the deck lever to raise the deck.
  8. Remove the scrap lumber.
  9. Remove the deck from under the mower.
Adjust the drive belt:
  1. Remove the belt from the large idler pulley.
  2. Remove the belt from the adjustable idler pulley.
  3. Carefully remove the spring-loaded large idler pulley.
  4. Loosen the adjustable idler pulley and move it slightly toward the rear of the mower to tighten it-or move it toward the front to loosen it-and retighten the pulley.
  5. Replace the belt.
  6. Check belt tension and readjust as needed.

Changing Blades

With most small lawn tractors I've dealt with, you want to unhook the deck-blade drive belt, some have one large belt that turns the blades as well as the rear wheels, others have more than one belt.. usually you will find four brackets that suspend the entire mower deck below the lawn tractor. To locate these brackets raise the mower deck so that its not resting on the ground, then push the mower deck side to side and notice where the attaching arms are moving under mower but above the deck, once you find the four brackets, lower the deck 2 its lowest point. remove the connecting pins noting the exact hole each pin came out of, if you have not removed the belt bye now do so at this time. you may find a stubborn piece of metal preventing the belt from coming off near the larger pulley Don't bend it out of the way just remove or loosen its nut,its there 4 a reason. so now, 1 the belts off the pulley. 2. the pins or bolts have been removed from the suspending arms and the hole positions have been noted. remove any other actuating rods or levers remaining so that the mower deck can slide out from under the mower. you may have to put the front wheels on a 4x4 blocks or similar to accomplish this. once you've got the deck out carefully turn it upside down, use blocks to keep from mashing pulleys, etc. you will probably see two or three blades, remove hex head bolt w/ washer holding blade to spindle, be sure to note cutting side of blade and direction of travel. If you don't see bolts in the center of blade look for my other solution for changing blades and blade bearings.

Hi,
Tape players have several rubber belts in it and if we do not use them frequently belts loosen and become useless and they need to be replaced... . To accomplish this however you need some sort of handy man ability.. Take out the metal cover of the player by removing the screws on the sides .after removing the cover you can access the tape head /transport mechanism. if you look carefully to underneath of tape transport you will see the motor unit which belts will be there...check the belts for the moving mechanism and make sure the belts are not loosen / worn out or broken . You can replace it with a new one that may available in radio Shack stores. Take care..and let me know if it does not work out..

I need to know how to put the mower belt back on a husqvarna ride on.its not broken just came off now i cant cut the grass...aarrgggghhhh . how do i go about doing this?

first you need to find the black lever on the left side of your deck and disengage it, this will loosen the tensioner on the belt
then you need to route the belt according to the belt map sticker that should be found on the deck making sure that the belt is properly on the pulleys
next you should reengage the belt tensioning lever, if belt is where it should be you will be fighting spring pressure, don't let it slip
finally reexamine the belt for proper position especially under the pulley covers where slippage may not immediately be apparrent, if everything is okay you should be good to go,
p.s. with engine off and key removed reach under deck and turn blades by hand to see if free to operate, should feel a little resistance but really just making sure they turn, if no resistance then the belt is not on properly

How does the belt go on a Craftsman FS5500

Step 1

Consult your owner's manual to get the proper part number for the drive belt needed for your particular lawn mower model and purchase it.
Step 2

Turn your lawn mower on its side or put your riding mower up on blocks so you can get to the underside of your mower's deck.
Step 3

Clean the underside of your deck. This can most easily be accomplished by carefully scraping the underside of the deck with a long handled flat blade screwdriver. Remove any pieces of drive belt that are still attached to the pulleys that are visible.
Step 4

Locate the tensioner. This is a pulley that can move when it is loosened. Use your ratchet to loosen the bolt holding the tensioner in place. Allow the tensioner to move closer to the other pulleys.
Step 5

Check your owner's manual for the proper way to position your drive belt over the pulleys. On most models the drive belt simply goes around the drive pulley, the tensioner and the pulley connected to the blades, but some models are slightly different.
Step 6

Pull the tensioner tight until there is less than 1/2 inch of play in the drive belt when you push on it between pulleys. Tighten the bolt holding the tensioner in place once the belt is as tight as the owner's manual suggests.

Needing to know how to replace bottom belt. i have the belt just not sure what i need to loosen or remove to get the new belt on.

the deck belt has a tensioner pulley, usually located in the middle of the deck belt will ride against not around it, all you need to do is loosen the tension on the pulley slip old belt off and slip new one on. I usually use a big screw driver to pry on the pulley, but you can use a ratchet strap. Hope this helps Tim

The belt run between the crankshaft and the transmission. Pull the spark plug wire off, Take the plastic cover off the top of the deck; Look underneath the deck, you will see a bracket that keeps that protects the belt. it will have to be loosened. get the belt around the blade, loop it around the pulley under the deck, put it thru the hole to the front and loop it around the transmission pulley. put everything back together and your done.
Good Day.
