The telescopic wand on my Miele S5281 keeps collapsing, how can I fix it so it locks in place.

Hi There,
You can get a button repair kit and it should fix your problem which is normally a loose spring. In Australia VacuumSpot sell these over the net.

S5261 keeps cutting out

How long does it take to cut out? If it is like 10 - 15 minutes it is likely that your filters need replacing. If you are using non genuine miele bags you may be creating an overheating problem also. Of course it could be an actual motor problem as well. Easy way to test is to remove the hose, bag and filters. Turn the machine on and let it run. If it does not cut our it is an airflow problem. Add your bag and filters back in and if it cuts out replace anything that looks dirty. If all good add the hose back on and if you have a problem here you may have a blockage that needs to be removed. If you need any parts for any miele in Australia visit vacuumspot.com.au

Failed telescoping tube lock. Will not release

It is stuck because it is full of gritty dirt. Like the guy said, don't force it, get a bigger hammer.

Serioiusly, you can use a hammer to tap along the handle to loosen the gritty dirt and probably get the parts to release.
