The feed dog control is on the back of the sewing machine's free arm.

To see a diagram, here is a downloadable copy of the user's manual (link below). The feed dog instructions are on page 12.

Hope that helps.

SOURCE: feed dog problem.

Open the bobbin case door and there should be a lever sitting off to the right. It moves from left to right. For the feed dogs to be in the up position the lever should be to the left.

SOURCE: feed dog is stuck

I have the same problem...this is a work around, not a fix. You need a small flat-head screwdriver. 1. Remove the clear bobbin cover. 2. Make sure the feed dog switch is in the DOWN position. 3. Slide the screwdriver under the feeddogs from inside the bobbin area & lift the feed dogs. 4. While holding the feed dogs in the up position, return the feed dog knob to the up position. You have to do this every time you put the feed dogs down...bummer, but I can find no broken part or adjustment that corrects this. If it's inside the machine body, I don't mess with it... I did take off the bottom plate in the feed dog area..one screw holds it.... there is nothing there to indicate a problem.

you can download the manual at: http://www.costco.com/images/content/misc/pdf/334599_instructions.pdf. This site is fairly stupid and won't let me cut & paste the URL so copy it carefully.

SOURCE: How do I raise and lower the feed dog on my singer

On your Singer, you don't actually raise / lower the feed dog. Instead you attach a "darning plate" (which should have come with the machine) which covers the feed dogs so they do not come in contact with the fabric. See a page from the owner's manual using this link within my web site: http://www.sewvac1.com/Singer3080_Feed_Drop.pdf

SOURCE: how do I drop the feed dog on a singer sewing

They do not drop.

The accessories with this model include a darning plate, which is a plastic shield that snaps over the feed dogs.

If you cannot find the darning plate, poke a hole for the needle in the center of an index card and tape it over the feed dogs with blue painter's tape (does not leave a residue) and set the stitch length to zero.

Be sure to use a darning foot and lower the presser foot.

My feed dogs are not catching the fabric.

Likely there is a lever, button, or such to raise and lower the feed dogs. Check all the different buttons ones you have, usually on the right side of the machine -maybe at the base. Often they are not marked.

If possible you might Goodle the machine make and model and there may be a video on U tube to show specifically how to do it.

First off make sure your bobbin winder is not enguaged, meaning in the left hand position not the right. Also check your handwheel isn't pulled out to the right which would mean your bobbin winding clutch is enguaged.

I need to adjust the feed dog higher. There is a threaded plastic stud with a metal keeper nut surrounding it. There are 2 allen wrench studs attaching the feed dog. Which one adjusts it higher?

I would not advise raising the teeth any higher unless they have dropped down, with the teeth fully up crouch down so the teeth are in your eyeline and they should only be just above the plate, if you raise them up above what they should be you are in danger of breaking the needle plate and even the teeth holder which will be expensive

Feed dogs will not raise, I have lifted the presser foot, pushed the feed dog lever to the raised positon and turned the handwheel till i heard the click. They still will not snap into place in the raissed...

Hello

First, lift the presser foot; next, push the feed dog lever to the raised position; finally, turn the handwheel towards you until you hear the feed dogs snap into place

If it doesn't, you will have to run a maintenance check on your feed dogs,

Unplug the machine and examine the feed dogs. The newer machines have metal feed dogs, but older models may have rubber ones, which often need replacing. Examine the feed dogs and check for damage.

Remove the throat plate, which is the covering over the feed dogs, and clean it with a soft cloth. Use a small soft brush to clean the feed dogs. Make sure to remove all lint and thread from the grooves of the teeth. Some machines have an adjustment that lowers the feed dogs for specific sewing procedures. They should be in the raised position for better viewing during the cleaning process.

Clean the area around the feed dogs with a soft brush. Compressed air is a good choice to use in the small tight areas.

Wipe down all areas with a clean, lint free cloth before replacing the throat plate.

Prepare to clean the feed dogs and all other areas that lint may accumulate on, after every project. Your sewing machine will last longer and need fewer repairs if kept clean and lint free.

Always unplug the sewing machine before any type of maintenance or cleaning.

Never use a sharp tool when cleaning the feed dogs as this may cause damage to the sewing machine.

My presser foot bar moves up and down, but it doesn't move the presser foot. It's a Singer

I just looked at your manual on www.singerco.com and all I can see is that maybe, your chosen stitch length is not long enough, or your feed dogs are not up. Another possibility could be tangled thread or fabric is too slippery(try some tissue paper under fabric) check your needle size. If, you misplaced your manual it is free on the above website. Good luck, sometimes machines are just being ornery.

Check to be sure the buttonhole lever is in the up position and the presser foot is down. Check feed dogs to be sure they are in the up position.
