My synocaddie V100 does not hold a charge anymore,it works when connected to computer or electric a supply, when disconnect battery only lasts about 10 min. Manual says battery cannot be removed.

Some batteries cannot be replaced which means that the device has outlived its usefulness. Bear in mind that all electronic devices come with a life span and unfortunately unless you take it back to Sonocaddie and they can do something for you its probably time to look at getting a new one.

I just received my neww 1450LM Garmin Nuvi GPS today and it push the on/off power switch and it does not come on. so, I started my car and plugged it in and it still does not come on. Please tell me why it...

Garmin is voluntarily recalling certain nuvi devices that contain a specific battery that was manufactured by a third-party supplier within a limited date code range.
Garmin has identified potential overheating issues with the use of these batteries in certain nuvi devices with a specific printed circuit board (PCB) design. Additional information about the nuvi battery PCB recall can be found in Service Alert Number: 1035.

The models that may be impacted by the nuvi battery PCB recall are the 200W, 250W, 260W, 7xx and 7xxT (where xx is a two-digit number). To determine if your unit is affected, please visit and enter your nuvi's serial number. If your unit has the specific PCB design and contains a battery from the specific date range, you will be given instructions on how to return your nuvi for a battery replacement at no charge.
You should not attempt to remove or service the battery on your own; all battery replacements must be serviced through Garmin's authorized service provider.
If you do not have web access, you may contact Garmin through one of the phone numbers below:
  • In the United States and Canada, call (866) 957-1981
  • In North America and South America outside the U.S. or Canada call (913) 397-8200

Garmin sincerely regrets the inconvenience that this recall has caused and is making every effort to cooperate with customers, dealers, and regulatory agencies worldwide to ensure all parties are assisted according to national regulatory standards

I have a nuvi 220 and it dosent want to turn on i try to charge it and it doset charge what can i do

The battery has died. Like all rechargeables it does not last forever.

Your options are to replace the battery (just search "nuvi 220 battery" for suppliers and instructions) or if you're thinking of updating the maps then it's cheaper to just replace the entire unit.

Our nuvi 350 has been sitting in its box for several months/need it now for a trip and cannot get it to charge. Could it possibly need a battery? Worked fine last time we needed it.

You've most likely correctly diagnosed the fault for yourself.

Lithium rechargeable batteries like the one in your Garmin are damaged if stored uncharged for any length of time, so you'll need to replace the battery. They're not designed to be user-replaceable on most Garmins, but if you search the web for "nuvi 350 battery" you should easily find a supplier and there will be videos to show you how to do it on your model or a closely related model. Click here for one example of an instructional video.

I haven't given you a link to a battery supplier as I don't know which country you're in nor whether you want an original (Garmin) battery, a generic compatible battery or one of the upgrade versions which give longer battery life. Personally, I'd recommend that you avoid the latter type as a new standard capacity battery usually has plenty of life in it when charged.

Good luck and please take a moment to rate my answer.

Womt respond, tried to reset and different cig lighters

Don't have your model etc but from your description I would say your internal battery is dead. Most gps need a working battery to run even when hooked onto the charger.

If you are careful (mainly because of seals) you can replace the battery in a few minutes with just a small screw driver. Cost can be $20 and up from a 3rd party supplier.

It is also possible that you have a fuse or other internal hardware problem which is not a diy fix. If that is the case you should see if your gps manufacturer has a refurishment program. Usually a moderate fee and you get a new or refurbished unit back. If not then best advice is to replace with a new unit.

My bet is on the battery.

Powers up but no display

The internal battery needs to be replaced. It is not under warranty so any marine electronics shop can do it. The battery is for internal memory and are a common type.
