How do I get water flow back after replacing a Whirlpool water filter?

Just replaced a water filter in my Whirlpool side by side. We now have no pressure/flow of water at the dispenser. Works without filter. How do I get the flow of water back?

The replacement filter may have been installed backwards with the flow direction arrow point toward the source.

Can the water filter housing be the cause of slow water when the filter is in place?

Even a new filter will reduce the flow some what. I think the pressure to the filter is low or restricted . that will cause a reduction in flow, no it should not leak, check on the seal.

Cut water supply off to frig disconnect water supply line to frig water inlet valve turn water back on to make sure you are getting good water supplied to water inlet valve some times water cut off gets stopped up. If you are getting good water flow to water inlet valve then check to make water valve is opening up all the way. if not then replace valve.

MY SIDE BY SIDE Whirlpool dispenser water is slow

A clogged or incorrectly installedwater filter will reduce the water flow to the water dispenser. Check for aproblem with the filter by removing the filter and operating the dispenser. Ifwater begins to flow, then the filter is either clogged or incorrectlyinstalled. A clogged filter will need to be replaced.Thanks.

Ice maker does not make very much ice

Check your in line water filter if you have one. Turn water to unit off. Disconnect water line from the filter. Using a bucket or other suitable catcher, turn water back on. If you have good flow, replace filter.

Low water flow from "ice magic plus"

Have you tried replacing the inline filter? and if you have remove the filter and place a large bowel next to the water line and open it up and see if water flows from the line, if it flows fast then it's a problem with the fridge if it folws slow you have a problem with the water connection. Check that can get back to me if you need more help.

Slow water flow on Whirlpool Gold 25.6 cubic

The water line tap may be screwed back into the water line or you did not sufficiently poke a hole into the water line with the tap. We had the same problem. Shut off the water supply, remove the tap from the line and check the size of the hole. my bet is the hole is very small. Either drill out the hole with a drill and replace the tap (with a new rubber grommet) or add a tee into the line with the proper size compression fitting (that is what we did) and the water will flow freely..
