Base floods with solution during cleaning cycle

My husband went too long between changes of cleaning solution (he is deployed and couldn't get his hands on any) and now even with fresh solution when he tries to clean the razor, the cleaning solution floods up into the base and won't drain back down.

He's looked for some obvious hole that's blocked with gunk but can't seem to find anything to clean out. We can buy a replacement base but they are $50 - might as well get a new shaver. I'd love to get the one we having working again and send this shaver back to my husband in the desert.

Re: Base floods with solution during cleaning cycle

OK, Remove shaver from cleaning base. Raise top cover as if you are going to replace the cleaning cartridge. Now, look into the cleaning cup where you put the shaver into. You will notice a small hole on the bottom left side. With a Q-tip ,clean out the beard hair from the hole.If you have a model 5301 which is located on the bottom of the base, you should be able to push the Q-tip all the way through the hole. This will allow the liquid to flow back down into the cartridge. This is whats causing the overflow.

I'm on my second Panasonic ES-LA93-K shaver with a flashing "status" light. (This happens on the cleaning unit). Both times, it happened about 3 weeks after purchasing it. At first, I thought...

I've also seen this problem now... In my case re-seating the cartridge helped for a few days, but after that I got continuous flashing status LED. Turns out (after disassembling of the cleaner base) that the cross-shaped arm that checks for cartridge presence activates a micro-switch that is supposed to be open when everything is OK. I seem to have gotten a bit of water in it and therefore now it was recognized as missing all the time. As I have no plan of ever attempting to run the cleaning cycle without cartridge I disconnected the switch and isolated the cable ends - problem solved.
Disassembling of the base wasn't at all complicated when you have removed all the screws. There are three less obvious screws under the rubber feet (just pull the feet straight out), other that that they are all very visible.

My base does not pump cleaning solution thru the device. I will run the entire process, & there will be clippings in the bottom of the slot where the razor sits. The solution container is full, but...

The pump in the cleaning maching is broken. Pumps are not available seperately. Your only option is to purchase a new cleaning /charging machine. You will find this item for model 7570 available at See link below

Braun 8585 shaver, charges fine, cleaning cycle acting strange where it thinks the razor is clean, but it is not. When new it cleaned at some level every time put in the cleaning base. Now it very...

The problem is the base, not the shaver. Most likely, the circuit board inside the base has gotten wet and is damaged. If this is the case, it will need to be replaced. You will find a replacement at See link below

I replaced the cleaning liqud cartridge but it shows the red light indicating it is empty.

here is the solution..follow the steps please..

Thanks in advance for rating me..Regards
  • Replace the cartridge in the base station and close it.

  • The indicator light should cycle then change to green. If it doesn't then unplug the base station, wait a few seconds, then plug it back in.
  • Press the lock button to clean the shaver. If everything went well it should start cleaning like normal.

    My 7526 won't clean cycle

It is probably plugged up at the base. Take the cartridge out and turn it upside down> next clean the openings with a cotton swab< it make take a while as it can get gummy> That should fix the problem

Same here, only the hose in mine is shooting it out the opening where the shaver is cradled. I can't find where the hose is supposed to be.

Shaver will not charge or clean in the base

All you have to do is take the base apart. Turn it upside down, and there are two plastic clips on the rear portion of the base. Press them in with a key or screwdriver and wiggle the base a bit to remove the inner portion from the outer shell. Make sure you unplug the unit and remove the cleaning cartridge before doing this. Once it is apart, place a small wedge underneath the portion of the electric contact that sticks out to touch the shaver, and press the back of that portion out so that it slightly bends the contact strip and makes it stick out a little further. Then remove the wedge and put the base back together. It will work again, as the contacts can now protrude to touch the shaver and run the cleaning and charging cycle.

    Cleaning base

I have been shaving with electric razors for 48 years, and the Braun 8595 is by far the best one yet.
I have had the problem of the refusal of the cleaning station to recognize the level of fluid in the cartridge, three times over the last couple of years. It seems to relate to a build up of shavings in the unit. To get it working again I inverted the unit, and carefully flushed water via a small tube, back through the 1cm diameter hole in the underside of the open base. Of course, the unit must then be thoroughly dried before use, or the sparks may fly. Does anyone know how to dismantle the unit for a safer and more thorough clean?

    Braun 360 Cleaning base

When you are looking top down into the cleaning base you want to look to the left side of the hole where you put your razor. That is were the solution drains out after your razor is cleaned and there is probably a blockage there. I used a toothpick to clean mine out every once in awhile when gunk would build up there.
