Have you checked the safety switch under the seat? A lot of the riding mowers I've seen have a number of "safety" locks to keep a person from doing bodily harm by NOT being in the driver's seat.

SOURCE: engine stalls when electric PTO clutch is engaged

check your spacers to be sure you havent locked the clutch assembly directly to the motor shaft
you should be able to turn it fairly free less some clutch drag

SOURCE: pto blows the fuse everytime i engage it on my rzt

Wire harness for the PTO on the RZT's is designed dangerously near the drive pulley. After time, the harness drops and comes in contact with the pulley which grinds through the coating and shorts out the circuit. Repair (tape up) the wiring, relocate the the wire to the opposite side of the crank pulley (may have to zip-tie in place) - shouldn't be a problem anymore.

I replaced drive belt on troybilt mustang rzt shortly after electric pto clutch stopped engaging

Moist likely you failed to reinstall PTO clutch correctly as it sound the anti-rotation device wasn't installed. When you started the engine it would spun pulling the wiring apart. Hopefully just connector came part; otherwise, you might need to purchase a new PTO clutch assembly.

What is the Function of the pto control

It is to supply power the electric clutch that drives the mower deck.
If not functioning then the switch, PTO clutch, or wiring is not working properly. Note on some ZTRs when both handles are in reverse then electric clutch is disengage for safety.

Troybuilt Mustang RZT mower pto blades not engaging

Unplug the wire at the pto and turn the ignition key in the on position, us a tester to see if you have 12 volts to this plug, if you do then the pto itself is bad, if not then the pto switch is most likely the culprit.

New pto switch stoped working after 4 mowings

Maybe the problem wasn't the PTO switch. My Cub Cadet RZT PTO would disengage when I backed up and then failed to re-engage. I was able to isolate my problem to the safety switches at the base of the steering levers. I sprayed them with WD40 and they've been fine. Just a thought and worth checking. I hope this helps.

Put mower in reverse, turned it off and mower

There are safety interlocks on zero turn mowers. These prevent starting unless you have: 1. the handles in 'neutral' position 2. the brake on 3. the mower engagement (PTO) switch off 4. yourself in the seat.
Chances are one of these conditions hasn't been met. Since you were reversing when it happened, perhaps you haven't got the handles back to neutral position?
