Question about RCA Televison & Video
Setting up brand new Blu-Ray and when trying to plug it in, it knocked out the power to the room. Reset fuse box and power was restored. Now the unit won't turn on. Could it be a blown fuse within the player, or was it fried?
You have seen first what voltage apply to your device or you have putted in without seeing nothing. if you make this you must change the voltage block in your device which is a transformer a little transformer and somme electronics, somme time when you plug in and the pins cable going in the same time a condenser inside device respond make the voltage too high to administer , this is why power go out in your room, even this have somme blown parts and you have to repair them changing, at least a fuse inside your device

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: Player suddenly freezes
Try running a dvd cleaner through it first, before trying anything else (the type that looks like a DVD with a brush underneath).
The regular DVD might have been a fluke (scratches, rental?, burned dvd?)
Was there anything special about the new Blu-Ray Disc - what was the tile? On certain titles, you may need the firmware upgrade found at:

SOURCE: can't read blu ray disc
We searched the internet and found out that many people had the same problem as us and the reason for the problem is a defective part. You have to call panasonic and mail the whole unit back to them for the needed repairs. It really stinks to have to give up our player for so long but what else do you do? Never buy panasonic I guess.
I thought that I deleted all of my information from your website when we discovered our problem. Please do not charge me for this. Also please get rid of my info. If I ever do need help again I am happy to try your site. Thanks for asking.

I had the exact same problem as you did... I bought the Sharp Aquos 42D85X which came with Sharp BD-HP21X Blu-ray Disc player. could not get brand new blu-ray movies to play and i found it froze everytime after 10 secs. I phoned sharp who basically were no help watsoever! I then went and returned my blu-ray movies back to the store thinking it was a problem with the discs.. The people there were extremely nice and since they had a display model of the BD-HP21X instore they offered to test the movie on it to veroify whether it was the blu-ray player was the problem or not. Turns out its a fault with all of the BD-HP21X models. So we then ended up returning it back to the store we bought it and exchanged it with the older model (BD-HP20X). I now have no problems playing blu-ray movies. Although another suggestion is to perhaps download the lastest firmware update & see if that resolves your issues.

My guess is that the player may need to be cleaned, there is a cleaning kit that can be purchased at an electronics specialty store or retailer such as Wal Mart, if the kit does not correct the problem then you should have the unit checked and repaired or replaced - the unit may be defective. Good luck to you!
