Question about Garden
1. Confirm the transmission is being powered by the engine.
2. Is it powered by a belt? Is the belt on? Is it slipping?
3. With engine OFF, jack the rear of the tractor and turn the rear wheel. Does it turn freely? Does if turn the transmission?
Work backward up the drive train to confirm each component is in good working order. You will then gain an understanding of how it works. If you do not find the problem, respond to this post with more specific information as to where the problem is in the drive train.

Wrong belt size? Did you put everything back the way you took it off to put the belt on? Usually, it's the belt, if it doesnt fit tight it will vibrate, have a burning smell and wont let you shift smoothly.

check the rear wheels, has you fixed a flat and not put a key back in or not fitted the wheel correctly.
Some hydro ?? cut out levers only have a spring to pull it back and get stuck.

There is a pin in the back by the hitch - make sure it is pushed in. If it is pushed in then check to see if there are any oil leaks under it.

First, check the tension of the drive belt. There should be an idler pulley which is spring loaded that creates the tension. When you push the clutch in, it will release the tension. Also, check to see if the rear wheel hubs have set screws which lock them onto the axle Make sure they are tight.

check two things, make sure the by-pass rod is pushed all the way in and the drive belt from the engine to the rear end (tranaxle). If both check out ok do not attempt to service the tranaxle at home. have thet serviced by a dealer.
