Ichange a password on a acer aspire 1410 laptop with windows vista programand I forgot it . how can I log in without it?

You can remove or change the Window's User or administrator's password. You need access to a computer with Internet access to download the Hiren's Boot CD and burn it onto a CD. Then insert this CD into the laptop/computer and boot up the laptop/computer with the Hiren's CD and follow the instructions. There are very useful utilities CD and it a Linux boot CD which contains quite a lot of Utility programs including a password removal program. How to fix this error "BOOTMGR IS MISSING". Every-time I reboot my laptop, it always say to press CTR ALT DLT to restart. I did that, and seems to me that this error is keep coming...

Try this:
1. First you need Vista Recovery Disk .iso file. Can be downloaded here: [redacted]
2. Then you probably need image burning program. I prefer CD Burner XP >http://cdburnerxp.se/download.php
3. When you have installed CD Burner XP, start program, choose "Burn ISO image" and browse to Vista Recovery Disk.iso file.
4. When program has finished to burn ISO image, put CD into PC with "boot mgr is missing" problem.
5. Re-start PC, press F2 2-3 times, go into BIOS Setup Utility, choose Boot, move CD/DVD unit up to the first line with F6. Press F10 , choose YES.
6. Click this link to find out what to press when PC boots from CD:http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/fixing-bootmgr-is-missing-error-while-trying-to-boot-windows-vista/

I have an acer aspire 5920 laptop and it wont boot up. displays message BOOTMGR COMPRESSED.

First before doing this you need to make sure you have your windows vista CD.

If you do not you need to obtain a copy of this,

the following site should have all the details you need to make the CD and also to fix the problem :)

To make the recovery cd/dvd you need

http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/141820-create-recovery-disc.html

to fix the bootmgr problem

http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/202609-bootmgr-compressed-message-boot-fix.html

Please let me know if you have any other questions

0xc000000f error, Laptop wont boot into vista, tryed vista dvd to try recovery but wont load

That error maybe a harddrive faulty / not connected. But you may need to go into the setup/bios and change the boot order so that it boots from CD first To get into the bios when the PC boots you should see a message on the screen for a very short while which will tell you how to get into the setup/bios - usually by pressing a key - like F2, or DEL key or F10 once in the bios you then need to go through the menus at the top until you find a menu page which includes the boot order - make sure CD is first
Another test, if you have access to another PC and CD writer, would be to create a bootable CD from ubuntu - this will boot from the CD only and test that the hardware works
goto http://www.ubuntu.com/ and download the ISO
full details are here http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/use-ubuntu-live-cd-to-backup-files-from-your-dead-windows-computer/
click on the image "download ubuntu"
Select a location
then begin download
Save the file onto your PC – remember where you saved it – so you can find it again to create the image bootable CD.
You do NOT copy the ISO file onto a CD - you have to use the ISO to create a bootable CD The CD creator software you have on the PC may have an option to create an image from an ISO If not - use this free program http://www.imgburn.com/
When the UBUNTU CD boots - you will see the following options 1) Try ubunto without any change to your computer 2) Install ubuntu 3) Check CD for defects 4) Test memory 5) Boot from first hard disk.
Use OPTION 1 "Try ubunto without any change to your computer" ONLY this option this will run from the CD and not install onto your harddrive - be careful, if you do install onto the PC - you will wipe the data and software OFF your hard drive.., so repeat only use option 1
Now you should see a UBUNTU desktop This at least proves the main parts of the PC are working
With UBUNTU it may just be possible to copy any of your data onto a USB harddrive or thumbdrive

Windows failed to start. An error occurred while attempting to read the boot configuration data. I have no copy of Vista.

Without your Vista CD you are really stuck. Your only option is to get an OS CD. If you get a Vista CD, I can walk you through the process of fixing it.

One other thing you might be able to try is to install a Linux distro on top of it. You could make it a dual boot setup so you could at least make good use of your computer. However, without the Vista disk, you can't fix Vista. The only reason I am mentioning Linux is because it is free and you can gain access to all your files that you were using in Vista through Linux.

If you regularly use Windows proprietary programs this won't be of much use to you. However, if you are like most people and just use MS Office, web browser, email, etc. Linux does a splendid job of replacing Windows.
