Question about Canon imagePROGRAF IPF710 Printer
When I try to print, a notice comes up : "Perform printhead cleaning. If this messege is repeated, replace printhead Stop cancel print." Ok, I performed both cleanings many times and it still comes up. So I have already ordered a new printhead. What surprises me is: that the printhead is exactly one year old and has never, ever had any failure or need for clening. I have entered service mode and managed to print a nozzle test (that normal mode doesnt allow) and it shows a perfect print. Are prinheads programmed for a specific time of use??? My plotter is two years old and it wil be using its third printhead! isnt it a bit too much?

Hi it's Gill again. I've been looking around more on the net and I think the problem is our printers need new printheads which I'm told are spare parts easy to change. Hope this helps. Gill

You may need new print heads. They are around $50. Or, you could do this: Take the print head out of the printer, and run warm water from the tap (not high pressure), over the ports for about 5 minutes. Ink will drop out of the jets. Dont touch the electrical contact end of this head. This may clean the head enough so it works again. If not you need a new print head.

According to Canon 7 orange flashes indicates a print head fault. Solution they recommend is to take it to one of their service agents. Problem is that replacement print heads are not cheap and it is usually more economical to replace the printer. You could try taking the print head to a cartridge refiller and have it professionally cleaned (cost you nothing or next to nothing) and see if that solves the problem.

My Canon Primax ip4000 has stopped printing blue. I've tried deep cleaning and when I print a test page the blue 6c does not appear. Any ideas what the problem could be?
