Do you have to take the strimmer apart and reveal the spool or do you feed it in from the outside?

How do you get the string to come out of the spool whilst the snipper is in use ?

There are two or more types,
1: provided the spool is full and wound on correctly, to increase the length of nylon you tap the head of the snipper on the ground while it's spinning. This should release extra cutting string.
2: others are simply feed by the centrifugal force governed by a spring in the head. When you wrap the nylon string around the spool, then feed the nylon out the holes provided, the weight of the nylon string pulls the required amount of nylon out so you can continue to work.
Others are manual, simply pull the nylon out by hand to the desired length.
Note that you are only cutting with the very tip of the nylon string, not the full length.
