Question about Behringer Xenyx 1204USB USB Mixer

Powering mixer in field

I use this mixer for all of my recording needs and then i also have it on a very portable rack with 1 other device. i keep it with a small wireless receiver that receives 8 wireless belt packs has a volume adjust on the front for each then via xlr goes into my mixer. i have started planning for things out in the field but my issue is my equipment has no battery option and i cant lug around a loud generator but instead am looking for an inexpensive way to power the 2 devices for about 5 hours at a time. i would prefer it to be rack mountable and to tell me when it is low power, and ideas? ( i do not have the money to buy battery powered equipment )

No matter what the situation; you need to invest in 1000 Watt UPS devices for protection and back up of your equipment. If you make any money from the hobby (mixing) you must save it up and purchase the battery support system. Even at that, a power back up system will only last 30 minutes to 45 minutes depending on the combined wattage of your apparatus. The only other way is a Power Generator or Car Inverter that plugs into a 12Volt cigarette lighter port on the car. Then you can run off the Car Power (Battery) and charge it as needed. The Gas power generators are not all that expensive, but noisy.

I need PA speaker recommendations for a 100 watt powered mixer rated 4 ohm minimum.

100 watt output isn't a huge amount for a public address system by today's standards but where PA is concerned there are a number of variables to be taken into consideration and these are best considered by experts in that field who will then suggest a variety of options.

They will want to know whether it is to be used indoors/outdoors, whether it needs to be weatherproof, whether it is to be portable or fixed, the size of the venue, whether it is a 100 volt line and the size of your budget and probably a few other things in addition...

I just bought this mixer and can't seem my existing Cubase recording software to recognize it for recording. Do I have to run the mixer thru my existing interface or can the Cubase setups be modif

The mixer allows you to use the USB connection for recording without having to use an additional interface. Make sure that you have all of the proper drivers installed for the mixer. Regardless of whether you're using Mac or PC, you should be able to see the device in your list of available Audio Devices. If you do, you need to adjust the proper settings in the Cubase Audio preferences to make use of those inputs.

Ksm90. Mixer will not run. Tested for power at contacted had power.can I bypass phase board for full motor run. How many ohms should I be getting on field. Ps brushes looked good and long.

be sure motor brushes are inserted in the holders correctly; as 1 side of carbon brush has a shaved corner; and must be inserted as such. you will need a flashlight to shine into holder to see the shape of holder. i've seen this many times.

I need a case to carry my amp and mixer together they are seperate units both peavey... any suggestions on where i might get one..??? thanks

What type of mixer  and amp do you have?
Standard 19 inches rack case from SKB, Gator, RoadRunner or RoadRack, etc.
If you want mixer sit on top of the amp and others 1 space rack or multiple spaces, you could use some of company I mention above...  I own these rack spaces for my "ST-LightSound" Dj venue. I hope this info should help you make good selection for your need(s).

Not reading flash card, says "card error! error 08"

This is due to the corrupted data in the card,
Please get your Card formatted by any external medium. It will work and yes, please take care to plug-in the devices to appropriate port, it can harm your instrument permanently.

Hope this helps.

(need more tracks) dp01

I'm guessing that you're asking whether the mixer needs phantom power to the mics in which case the answer is that you wouldn't need power there if the mic preamp is providing it already. You'd just plug the mixer's main 1/4" outputs into the DP-01s 1/4" inputs. The 1/4" inputs on the DP-01 are not powered anyway, only the XLR jacks can be powered by turning the phantom power switch on.

Recording not right

Check the recording buffer latency on your recording software. And so you know, you should max your ram out with that soundcard. or have everyone record there parts in as, 5 ins is alot for a machine to process, especially if youre recording to 1 track..brutal, and the final recording will be real muddy.

Keep me posted.
