Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

The alarm light continues to flash and although the LCD message says to "check printer press resume key" I don't seem to be able to do anything to get it to stop. I've tried turning the printer off, unplugging it for 15+ seconds and turning it on again only to get the same message. When I open the hood in order to access the print cartridges, the printhead unit does NOT return to the center so I cannot access them or do anything to check them. I don't know what to check. All of this has come about because I've been trying to get the colors to correctly print and before running into this problem, I replaced the black ink cartridge and used 99% isopropyl alcohol to drop onto the printheads after removing the cartridges. After doing this I've tried to print nozzle check patterns and test pages with pretty much nothing coming out on the paper.

Try this, unplug you printer from pc. uninstall your printers software, then reinstall, restart pc then plug printer back into pc. it may just be a software glitch. Hope this helps. Let me know what happens.

Canon Multipass F80 printer. "Check printer press resume key"

On the f80 you need a shop to go to service mode and get the error code and tell you what the problem is. Could be purge assembly, waste ink full, feeder error, printhead error, any number of possible problems.

Alarm light blinking message says press resume key. does not work

Not sure what model you have but it always helps to open all doors ans trays and check carefully if there is any paper stuck, if so remove and shut all doors. If you still have the message and are sure there is no paper stuck switch off then on again,

Canon i9950

Yes, the flashing light on start-up is actually the Waste Ink pad is full
a Canon tech suggests that the job is very difficult (unfortunately even for them)
good news is that you can override it for awhile...
  • turn off power
  • press & hold RESUME button, then press POWER button
  • continue to hold POWER then release RESUME button
  • Press RESUME Button 2x quick
  • Release both RESUME and POWER
  • Green light will now blink, then stop
  • With Green light RESUME 4x
  • Push Power button to turn printer off
this should resolve the issue
remember to rate the solutions...anything less than FIXYA actually lowers my rank...I didn't make the system...just wanting everyone to understand the impact of their if you need further help...just ask....hope it fixya'd...if it did then rate please!
