Question about Onkyo TX-DS939 Receiver
Is it time to bid farewell to my friend of 10 years?
I turn on the power from the front panel, the main display lights up whereas the little LED on the volume knob and all power to the lower display is gone!
More importantly there is NO sound!!
There's usually a audible click a few seconds after power up to tell me that she's ready to go. Sadly that is no longer the case.
I've tried the "reset" by pushing CD and V1 but alas to no avail.
I have a Onkyo 919 thx and it keeps getting a protect on it is there is something overheating repeatly and is there that much of a difference between the 919 and the tx-939. thanks

If it helps, I still have one I have not used for quite a few years. Should be in near perfect condiftion, with the original box, manual, remote, and mic. I just don't know what it's value is today, though except for not having HDMI or DTS, it could still probably pound all the newer units into the ground.

+22v line is missing. Check for 22v at R9207, not present check R9201,2 0.22ohm, R9203-6 1 ohm. Check also Q9201 12v reg ic, it supplies the led in the volume ctl. While your in there, solder up any cracked solder joints, bad connections.
